I decided that I wanted my clit pierced over a year ago. However, I was only 17, and a clit piercing isn't exactly something that you can feel comfortable asking your mother to sign for, if you know what I mean. When I turned 18 this past summer, I decided to really sit down and think about the pros and cons of a vertical hood piercing. You see, my clitoris is virtually hidden behind what seems like more labia than necessary, and rarely receives any kind of stimulation during intercourse without direct and deliberate contact. For me, this piercing wasn't going to be something I got done to "show off", or even tell anyone about it at all. This piercing was completely necessary, because I felt like it might help me to reach the level of sexual satisfaction I so craved.

I just moved to the Springfield, MO area, so tracking down and investigating which piercing parlor I wanted to go to was probably the most tedious part of the entire process. After online investigation, I found a place called Kaleidoscope. Kaleidoscope is the ONLY piercing parlor in this part of Missouri that carries full-coverage piercing insurance, so of course, that helped me to make my decision. I decided that I wanted to go in to the store (they also sell body jewelry, smoke accessories, etc.) before the day I was planning on actually getting the piercing done, so that I could meet and talk to some of the staff, and decided which piercer I was the most comfortable with. After all, this is a very private and delicate part of my body we are dealing with here, so I wanted to make sure I was in good hands. I met Ben (my piercer), and immediately knew he was my guy. So I had the place, I had the piercer, but did I have the courage?

I wasn't nervous until I started signing the papers. The staff helped to calm me down, jokingly assuring me that vertical hood piercings are one of the least painful piercings one can get, and that I would in fact survive the procedure! So when it was my turn, I went inside and watched as Ben carefully and thoroughly sanitized the chair I would be getting pierced in, and set out all of the new and sterile equipment. One of the many requirements at Kaleidoscope is that if you are a female being pierced by a male and you came to get pierced alone, one of the female staff members will sit in the room with you, to ensure that the procedure feels entirely professional. We spoke about the aftercare procedures before he had me undress from the waist down. As Ben swiftly set up everything he needed, I took a deep breath and told myself that I could do it. I climbed up on the chair, and put my feet into the cold metal "gyno" stirrups, laid down, and Ben began to poke around to deter mine whether or not I was anatomically suited for the piercing. When he gave the procedure the "OK", I took a deep breath, and readied myself for what I was hoping would be a fulfilling experience. He sanitized the area, and marked the spot of needle entry with what looked like a toothpick and ink. When he inserted the receiving tube under my hood, I have to admit I was pretty uncomfortable. After the initial pinch, I relaxed. He told me to take one deep breath in, and that I could expect the piercing as I exhaled. I breathed in, breathed out, and in the needle went. I jumped slightly at the split second of pain, but not enough to affect Ben's steady hands. There was another small pinch as he pulled the jewelry through the piercing, but other than that, I was feeling the benefits immediately. He made sure that the balls on the barbell were screwed on nice and tight, and checked to make sure everything had come out as expected. The bleeding was very minimal, and the pain was non-existent. I expected to feel some discomfort as I stood up or beg an to walk around, but there was none. I was elated, and the grin upon my face told everyone so.

I walked out of the parlor feeling like I had just accomplished something really good for myself. The independence of going to get the piercing done alone, and not telling anyone about it before hand really gave me a rush. It was my present to myself, my little secret. Now all I have to do is walk around and smile. I am planning on respecting the "no intercourse waiting period" before I test out whether or not my problem with stimulation has been solved. Either way, I feel like I have already accomplished a great deal, and would recommend this piercing to anyone who wants something quick, easy, and not very painful. Just make sure that you do your research before hand, and make sure that all of your personal needs and requirements are being met.
