I'm a 27 year old married mom of 3. The only pairing I've had are my ears. I never thought of getting anything pierced other than my navel once I loose the extra weight I gained from having kids. My sister has all sorts of piercing and tattoos...it took me YEARS to get my first tattoo (and only so far, a small butterfly on my left breast) for some reason I was afraid that it would really hurt. It didn't and when it was done I couldn't believe I waited so many years because I was afraid it was going to hurt.

My first thought was OUCH...no way!! She told me it didn't hurt but I didn't believe her. The thought pretty much left my mind. For some reason in June I started thinking about it. I thought about it more and more and decided not to go get it right away but to do some research. Someone told me about this site so I read about all of the different types of genital piercings and reviews of the different places here in Anchorage that did them. There was one place that I pass every time I go to wal-mart so I decided to check it out when I drove by one day. Me and my friend stopped to take a look and get pricing info etc. They were closed...humm is this a bad omen?? A few days later we went back during business hours. After reviewing this site I knew the right questions to ask and felt confident going in to get a quote on pricing. I asked the guy at th e front desk how much it would cost and he asked which type of hood piercing I was looking at. I told him I was interested in a horizontal piercing. He took out this little model of a female genitals and explained what a horizontal piercing was and where it went. He then told me that they don't do a lot of them because they have a tendency to "twist" and that they are more for show then sensation. He showed me how they did a vertical piercing and the barbell they would use and said that they usually start with a 12g. He told me that the cost was $75 and that included the purchase of the barbell. I asked more questions that I knew to ask from this site, asked to see the room it would be done in, etc. and told him I'd be back in about a week. Now I'm sure at this point he didn't believe me and my friend who parked in front of the store in our mini-van. He probably has a lot of people coming in and saying they'll be back and never return.
The next week we came back (yesterday, 7/31/03) ready and willing to go for it. Neither one of us had any piercings and were more excited to get it done then nervous. When we were filling out paperwork and waiting for our turn we saw Tonya, she's the one who we were waiting on to pierce us. She interacted really well with everyone and seemed really nice. My friend and I decided that I would go first and she would go second. I knew that if I went first I wouldn't chicken out and get all anxious and nervous waiting even longer, if I saw her go first I'd see how it was done and may not want to get it done. Turns out, only one of us can go in the room at a time. We had planned to go in together and be there for support. Tonya explained that they could get fined a lot of money if more than one person was in there at a time, so we had to brave it up. I went in first and watched Tonya wash her hands and get everything ready. She explained to me where to position myself on the gurne y type of bed, and to take off my pants and my panties. I did so trying not to sound nervous when asking questions about a horizontal piercing...I still was thinking this is the one I'd want. She too explained to me why a vertical piercing would be better, I agreed and got on the bed. I laid there wondering how bad it would hurt and looking at the ceiling as Tonya explained what she was doing. Cleaning, measuring, cleaning again. She showed me the receiving tube...not at all what I expected it to look like, and explained that it would probably be pretty uncomfortable. I expected it to hurt quite a bit because of what I've read on this site, but surprisingly enough, it didn't I don't even remember it feeling that uncomfortable. She told me that when she said so to inhale really deep through my nose, and exhale really big from my mouth. For some reason I thought I'd screw this part up.
INHALE REALLY BIG AND SLOWLY LET IT OUT....As I was exhaling I felt a sharp pinch type of feeling and then the needle go through. After that I didn't feel anything. She said the piercing was done, now all she had to do was put the barbell in. She said I shouldn't feel it, and I didn't. She told me she was tightening the ball and was almost all the way done. After she tightened it she gave me a hand mirror to see her work. It was a vertical piercing and not as pretty as I think the horizontal piercings are, but still pretty. I told her that it looked like good work, and thank you. I got down and put my panties and pants back on and proceeded to ask questions about cleaning and healing and that kinda stuff. One of the things I'd asked her was if I bled a lot, she said no, just a small drop. She then told me that I had a perfect hood for this piercing and that the way she pierced it was so that the 2nd ball was "hiding" and would stimulate the clit more. I was excited.
My friend went in and it took awhile, probably the same time as mine but seemed to take forever now that I was waiting. As I was waiting I couldn't really feel the piercing, there was no pain, just kinda felt like there was something there...but nothing like I imagined. No good sensations as of yet, but it was only last night. I have no pain and move around a lot with my job and with a lot of small children so I'm constantly up and down. When my friend came out she thought the same way I did a sharp pinch and that was it. I've read reviews where some say they screamed, yelled or cussed because of the pain. I think the key to not focusing on the pain was the EXHALE. My friend thinks the same thing. If I wasn't exhaling I probably would've said a bad word or two. I would do it again in a heartbeat...and I haven't even gotten to experience the benefits of it yet.
Anyone in the Anchorage area looking for a piercing...check out this place. Specifically ask for TONYA...SHE ROCKS!!!
