It's So Cute!! |

Wow...where to start? First, a little background about myself. I'm a 21 year old graduate student in Illinois. My first piercing (other than ears) was my tongue. I got it done when I was 19. It went so well that I quickly became addicted to piercing. Later, I got my eyebrow done and my navel done. Both of these were done by Chris at Absolute. My eyebrow piercing went really well, but I took it out a few months ago because of graduate school (doesn't look real professional for internships and such). I only left the navel piercing in for 3 months because it was migrating. So...I decided that I needed something to replace the 2 piercings I took out.For about 6 months, I've been researching clit hood piercings on BME's site. All the stories I read said that the piercing itself hurts pretty bad, but then it hardly hurts at all after that. So Saturday morning, I called Absolute and asked how much a clit hood piercing would be. I then asked if I could make an appointment. He said that if I wanted to come in now, he could fit me in before his next appointment. I figured if I didn't do it now, I never would. So I hopped in the shower, got dressed, and headed out for my piercing.
When I got to Absolute, I filled out all the paperwork, talked to Chris for a little bit, and was ready to go. First, a little about the studio. It's like a hospital. It even smells like a hospital. That was comforting to me, knowing that everything was so clean. I went in to the piercing room and Chris talked me through the procedure. I had previously told him that I wanted a vertical hood piercing with a barbell (more comfortable), so he was showing me the different barbells he had. He then told me to take off my underwear (I was in a dress) and hop up on the hospital bed with my feet propped on each corner. He left the room while I got ready, and then knocked before he came in. He then put some topical numbing gel on the hood area to decrease the pain of the piercing. While I was numbing, he got everything ready for the piercing. As always, he showed me the steam marked packages with the needles and receiving tube. He talked me through everything he was doing so there were no surprises.
We were finally ready for the piercing. He told me to take a few deep breaths, in through the nose, out through the mouth. On the third breath out, he did the piercing. It was some of the most intense pain I've ever felt, but I swear it only lasted one second at the most. A warning: STAY STILL. DO NOT JUMP!! I did fine, but he was telling me that he's had people roll off the bed during the piercing. He put in the barbell, cleaned me off and gave me a mirror to take a look. "It's beautiful!!!" I yelled. I fell in love with it immediately. He took a pic for his portfolio and told me I could get a copy if I wanted. And, of course, I wanted a copy. He told me to get dressed whenever I was ready, and he left the room. I just laid there for a second, not sure if it would hurt when I started to move. I slowly sat up...no pain. I even put my underwear back on...no pain. I walked out to the waiting room...no pain!!! I really haven't felt pain since the needle went through. The only discomfort I've had is when I tighten the balls on the barbell. It's a little sore when I touch it, but other than that, I can walk fine, sit fine, and have had zero problems with it so far.
Chris told me that the aftercare was fairly simple. I take two quick baths everyday (a shower would work too, but I find the bath more soothing), and clean it with a little bit of Dial Anti-bacterial soap. I asked him about the sea salt soak, and he said that I didn't have to do it, but that it may help sooth the pain if I ever have any. However, so far, I have had none!! He said that the body is usually pretty good at healing itself. And from past experience, that's so true. I've had minimal bleeding, usually just when I tighten the balls because it tugs at the piercing site a little.
I would recommend this piercing to anyone. Just make sure it's a piercer that you trust and at a studio that's clean. If you're anywhere near this area, I would HIGHLY recommend that you stop in to Absolute and see Chris.
By the way, if you do get it done, drive your car over railroad tracks...you'd never believe how good a bouncing car can feel on the piercing!! ;)
