I can't believe I got my hood pierced!

I can't believe I actually had the nerve to do this. I was sitting at work one lazy afternoon looking at BME, not really looking for a new piercing (I have my tongue and naval done), but reading all the experiences. For some strange reason, I started getting that nervous I'm-about-to-get-pierced-excited-butterfly feeling, even though I had no intention of seeing a needle that day. Then I came across the clitoral hood piercings. It was one image in particular of a double piercing, with a horizontal CBR and a vertical barbell, with the ball of the barbell nestled just so against the bead on the ring...I knew I didn't want two piercings, but that picture, and all the positive experiences writted about hood piercings, clinched it.

There are two places on South University Street in Ann Arbor that do piercings, Miami Moon and Purple Haze. The piercer at Purple Haze is a woman and a nurse, so I decided to try there first. So, I went up, and asked if the piercer was in- no, she was not in that day at all. The clerk asked me what I wanted pierced, and did I want to make an appointment, but I was too embarassed to say, and I knew if I waited for an appointment I would never do it. So,I went down the street to Miami Moon, and stood outside for literally ten minutes with the shakes, telling myself it would be over in matter of minutes, and then I would have a new piercing! When I finally got the nerve to go in, I had pushed auto-pilot, and asking for the piercing was almost a breeze, although it was slightly embarassing. But neither the clerk or the piercer flinched, so I figured this wasn't the first time someone had requested this! I decided on a vertical barbell, since the bar would rest closer to my clit and would be more "functional". (I figured for all the pain, I might as well get something out of it, since this isn't a piercing I'll be showing to too many people!)

The guy who did my piercing, Jim, was nice- he had a lot of facial pierces, and to help calm my nerves, told me about his Prince Albert. I wanted to ask to see it, but was too shy. He had me take of my shorts and underwear and climb on to the table- he had me put my feet on the edge instead of in the stirrups, which was definitely a lot less doctor-like, which was good. First he clamped my hood, which was quite uncomfortable- he had to move the clamp a lot, and it kept hitting my clit, which was not a pleasant feeling. When he had the clamp on, which hurt a little, he marked two holes. He told me to breathe in and out slowly, and very quickly pushed the needle in on an exhale. It hurt- there's no doubt about that, but it was very quick, and since its such a thin flap of skin, there is little resistance. Because it was a new piercing, Jim made me get a CBR, which was slightly painful going in during the piercing, but by that time I already had quite a rush from the piercing so I didn't mind. Because I thought the ring stuck out funny, being vertical, I changed it to a tiny 14 ga barbell 2 weeks later, which I'm much happier with. I was originally pierced at 16 ga, which I think was too thin- it felt too much like a wire, and I kept envisioning it getting pulled out.

I thought healing went very well. I cleaned it with antibacterial soap in the shower once a day, rotating and working the soap in for a couple minutes and rinsing very well. It stung for the first couple cleanings, but other than that there was no pain or secretions. By three weeks I thought it was completely healed. Since I have no pain at all, except sometimes tight pants press against it and thats slightly uncomfortable. I have read that some girls get so much pleasure from their hood piercing during normal activities, but I have not noticed this. I find that direct pressure on the ring causes pleasurable sensations, but other than that there isn't much difference. The real pleasure for me is in the thrill of having this piercing!

I am very happy with my hood piercing, and would definitely do it again. I love that I have this "secret", and it did add something to sexual pleasure. Although it was slightly embarrasing asking for a genital piercing, I think most piercers have "seen it all", and probably have done most of it to their own bodies anyway! The pain is quick and bearable- not nearly as bad as my naval was, and it is worth it for a pleasure that lasts a lifetime.
