Prior to getting my clitoral piercing I did extensive research and talked with women that have had it done. The part that made me the most nervous was the risk of desensitivity and of course the issue of pain during the piercing itself. After doing more research I decided to go ahead with it. The important thing is to go with an EXPERIENCED piercer who has extreme professionalism. I found a good match for me. I initially went into the studio for a consultation and to ask questions, but I ended up getting it done that day. Here is a run down of the experience:
At A Glance Author anonymous Contact anonymous@bme.anon When Six months ago Artist James Studio Urban Art Tattoo & Piercing Location Mesa, AZ After asking me several questions about my decision to have clit pierced, my piercer James went over lots of info with me regarding the different types of clitoral piercings, risks, and after-care. James took at look at the "goods" to make sure I qualified for the piercing (a small clit cannot always be pierced). I had to sign a boat-load of papers. Then I selected jewelery that I felt fit me best, a ring with a pink ball. James asked me to remove my skirt and underwear. He was very professional and that helped so much. He cleaned the area and put some numbing creme on. The we let the creme set in and talked about stuff other than piercings, which helped me relax. After some time James asked me if I was ready. I was freaking out nervous but said yes. He had to adjust the clamp a few times and I was getting more and more nervous. I just wanted it over with at that point. He told me to relax, take calm breaths, not move, and he was going to count to three. The wasnt as bad as I anticipated, but it was still the worst pain of my life and to this day when I think about it I have to close my legs. It felt like fire too when he was putting the ball on the ring. He cleaned the area and I saw blood which freaked me out even though James had told me before hand that this was common. He handed me a mirror and asked if I wanted to see, but I was all freaked out and said no. Then I decided to look and was amazed! It looked sooo beautiful. He let me rest for a bit and then went over aftercare.
I had trouble walking, peeing, and sleeping for weeks afterward. I did bleed for 3 days afterward. I just cleaned it and wore pads. I didnt "take it for a test drive" until about one month afterwards. Everyone is different though. My old roommate had her clit pierced and it took her almost 3 months to recover. But I was too eager and got stimulated one day while cleaning it.
The sex is slightly better I guess, not really too different. When using a vibrator though, OMG IT IS AMAZING!!! You will never feel suck intense pleasure. The orgasms last longer and are more pleasurable. I cannot even describe it. Kinda like the clit is being stimulated from inside. It is intense. The pain you experience getting the piercing and afterwards are worth it!!!
OVERALL ADVICE:
- Research, research, research
- visit several shops and talk with piercers before making a decisions
- Ask the piercer tons of questions and inquire about their certification, number of times they have done this, how long they have been doing this, any complications in the past
- Ask them questions about the piercing (even if you know the answers) so you can determine their understanding
- If the piercer has no or few questions for you, run like hell to another place
- Go a few days after your period so you wont have one coming for a while
- Wear a skirt because NO WAY will you be able get your jeans on after that
- Sleep without panties afterward (and your sheets are going to get blood on them. Even if you didnt really bleed during the piercing, you will at night
- Bring a friend to hold your hand during the piercing and also so they can drive you home (I made the mistake of going by myself)
- Cold showers will be your best friend for about a week
- As tempted as you are, do not play with it for at least a month, it can get very irritated
- Follow all of the after-care and cleaning guidelines so it does not get infected.
- Be careful using the bathroom afterwards, it burned for me for a few days after the piercing.
- There are several types of female genital piercings. Look at pictures and read the benefits/risks of all before deciding on one that is right for you. My friend could not get a deep clitoral piercing because she was too scared (understandable), so she opted for a less intense "christina" piercing.
OVERALL ENJOY!!! IT IS NERVE-WRECKING GETTING IT DONE, BUT AFTER A FEW MONTHS OF PAIN, YOU'LL HAVE JOY FOREVER!!!
