I had been thinking about getting my clit pierced for quite some time. I was nervous about the pain and also my boyfriend doesn't really care for them, so I had been holding off on it. I read the articles on this website and have been thinking about it a lot for the past two weeks, so finally a week ago my boyfriend just told me to do it and get it over with! I was so excited, but so terrified now that it was really going to get done. I had a place in Columbus, OH that I was set to go to, but as a part of the deal my boyfriend wanted me to get it done ASAP, which meant before I was back in Ohio. So, I was forced to find a place in the Chicago suburbs that would do it. I was a little disappointed because no place close to me here seemed as professional as Piercology in Columbus, but I figured heck, I am going to get it done while I can! I had my tongue pierced at this shop about 4 and a half years ago, so I felt comfortable going there again.

I got off of work early on Friday and drove home to change into comfortable clothing. On the way to the piercing parlor I was so scared! I had gotten other things pierced before, my ears, tongue, and navel, but this was my clit! When I got there it was about 12:30 in the afternoon so there was no one in the studio besides the artists. Autoclaves, check. I had talked to Dave on the phone on the way there and he was in the front when I got there. After a little while he took me to the back piercing room, which didn't look at all like I thought it would. It was dusty in the corners and just not as spotless and clean looking as I would expect from a professional studio. While he was getting ready to pierce me, Dave made a lot of sexual comments and was pretty crude. I just took it, figuring I would only be there for a few minutes.

Finally, after he got all his supplies and tools ready, he told me to take my pants off, which was sort of uncomfortable in front of a stranger, and proceeded to tell me how nice my "pussy" was, and all sorts of other things you don't expect from a PROFESSIONAL. This is like your gyno telling you that your clit is nice! He played around with my clit for what seemed like a ridiculously long period of time and then picked out a right sized ring. He used the same gloves for this whole experience - while he touched my clit, then the drawers with the rings in them, then my clit again, then the rings, then the spray bottle with the sanitizing solution in it. It seemed a little unsanitary to me, but he sanitized the ring and so again I just grinned and took it. By this point I just wanted to have the piercing done and get out of there!

When he was all ready, he took my feet and instead of placing them in some kind of stirrups or something, put them on his knees! He marked with a purple marker where the piercing was to go and then put on a pair of clamps that sort of hurt. These clamps weren't like the kind used on my tongue and navel (those were oval with teeth on the top), they sort of pinched the skin like pliers. Then finally he told me he was ready to do it and so I started taking deep breaths and then he pushed the needle through. It felt like he did it in 3 steps - just slightly breaking the skin, then he pushed it almost all the way through, and then the rest of the way. It hurt but I think it was easier than my navel or tongue. Exactly as other people have said, it didn't hurt at all after the needle was through. It hurt a bit when he put the ring through, and then sort of stung when he put the ball on, but after that there was no pain at all. I looked down and there it was, a ring in my clit. I co uldn't believe it.

Well after he finished, the phone started to ring and he answered it. Then the other line started to ring. After talking to the people on the phone for a few minutes, he told them he would call them back and then had me pay him. He never had me sign anything or fill anything out. I gave him the money for it and a tip and hightailed it out of there. I could walk just fine and didn't feel it at all. I got in the car and started the ride home. On the bumpy road I could sort of feel the vibrations in it (which sort of felt good) but no pain.

I went to the store on my way home and got Dial and some sea salt and have been cleaning it twice a day, once in my morning shower and then again before bed, and giving it a sea salt soak in the middle of the day. The only time it has hurt is if I bump it (did that twice, hurt quite a bit but pain went away quickly) or if I try to rotate it when it isn't wet. If I do that, it stings like crazy. When I wash it in the shower and at night there is no pain, and the sea salt soak helps a lot because it has been itchy and I can sort of pat it with the soaked gauze and soothe it. I am totally happy with it so far. Because it is still pretty sensitive to being touched and healing I have not tried anything sexual with it, but you better believe as soon as it feels better I am going to experiment with it as much as possible!

I guess the first point of posting my story here is to say that it really doesn't hurt as bad as you think it will. The stories you hear about it only hurting while the needle is going through are totally true. It is the easiest piercing I have ever had. It doesn't hurt, and my day-to-day life is totally the same while it is healing, unlike the navel and the tongue piercings, and even ear piercings. With the tongue piercing I couldn't eat and had to deal with a tongue the size of my foot in my mouth, and with the navel ring I had to wear loose pants and not get up too fast and I couldn't sleep on my stomach. With this, I just clean it and that's it. I went to the movies two days after I got it and wore tight jeans and I was totally fine.

My second point to posting is to say that if I could do it over again I would be sure to get it done at a studio where the artists treat the customers with respect and with professionalism. I don't think I will ever get another piercing or a tattoo from Rising Phoenix. The piercing is fine but no customer deserves to be talked to or treated the way Dave talked to and treated me, no matter what they are getting pierced. I guess 4 years ago I also didn't notice that it isn't the cleanest place in the world either.
