I had never really considered myself the type of person to get any type of piercing, much less a reverse prince albert. And originally, I even avoided contemplating getting such a piercing, and opted for more docile piercings (in my opinion), like my lorum, which is another story entirely.
At A Glance Author anonymous Contact anonymous@bme.anon When A month ago Artist Luis Studio New Age Body Piercing Location Coconut Grove, Miami, FL I started considering getting 'something' additional and 'something' more extreme nearly a week after getting my lorum, my first piercing. I determined in short order that it would be most definitely, without a doubt, a prince albert. And after getting up the courage, about 5 months had passed.
I contacted Luis at New Age who did my piercing and does a lot of my friends, and I instantly liked him. He's jovial, and made me feel comfortable. I emailed him first, and he responded in short order.
I did have a bit of a concern though, since I have what is called first-degree hypospadias, meaning my urethra doesn't exit through the tip of my penis, but is positioned really on the frenulum. Luis, while sympathetic, recommended strongly against this particular piercing, considering that it would most likely impair normal function, which I have no. Disappointed but determined, he suggested alternative piercings. I went home and looked at all the photos I could find until I narrowed my choices.
Luis suggested doing a number of other piercings: first, the ampallang. I was a little nervous about the prospect of a bar going through the glans of my penis, but a little intrigued at the same time. The only thing I was concerned about was that there'd be extra bar when I wasn't erect, and my penis would suddenly take on a likeness to frankenstein. Another piercing he suggested was the frenum -- I already had a lorum, so getting a frenum would start a nice, symmetrical decoration. I'm still considering this one, and getting three evenly spaced ones. The third and final suggestion was the guiche piercing, which I find attractive, but am more concerned about the healing process, considering I'll be sitting on it all day.
When I returned that evening to the studio, the owner was there, and was also very nice and experienced. Luis had spoken to him about my predicament, and he wanted to have a look, see if there was any way he could simulate the look without actually doing it the traditional way. He was the one who suggested the reverse prince albert. It worked really well for me because even though my actual urethra exits towards the underside of my penis, my glans still has a split in from where it should have been. I could get the reverse PA here, and it wouldn't effect urination or ejaculation in the slightest!
This is one of the things I like best about this studio: they want to help you find the piercing that's right for you, and if they don't feel comfortable with it, they won't do it. I find it reassuring that they use their experience and wisdom in such a way so that there customers are not only happy while getting pierced, but in the long run as they live life with their choices.
I thought about it for a bit, steeled my nerves, and decided that it was definitely the option I liked the most, for a few reasons: it fit the bill for the more serious piercing, it was in the same general area and has similar aesthetic properties to the piercing I originally wanted, and finally, it wouldn't make my penis comparable to frankenstein with two bolts on either side.
I scooted back into the private room and Luis marked where he would make the hole and where it would exit. After be emphatically told that I should look away, I took a deep breath, and WOW...definitely hurt worse than the lorum! I think I saw stars. While I was able to steel my mouth shut for the lorum, I was forced into uttering some vulgarities, though the pain quickly passed. Looking down, I saw a bloody captive bead ring through the tip of my dick, and surprisingly not as much blood as I expected. This is about where the endorphins kicked in and I grew a silly grin that was plastered on my face for the rest of the evening.
Luis took a few snapshots for his portfolio, and I left with a wide smile across my face.
It's healed very nicely. It does feel a little strange underneath my foreskin at times, and it can cause mild discomfort if it gets a little tight down there, but usually retracting and repositioning my foreskin and the piercing cure whatever pain I'm ailed with. I still can't help but grin when I inspect it.
Now I'm just reconsidering getting those frenums and guiche done...
Overall, I highly recommend this piercing -- it's aesthetically pleasing, and while it did hurt more than something like my lorum, I think it's worth it. And I really recommend New Age -- professional, experienced, and friendly are three adjectives that are high in my mind when thinking about them.
