It's Monday evening and I'm preparing for what many would consider to be quite a major piercing to go for as your first proper one but I'm undeterred. Although I'm quite a late starter I have been eager to get something like this done for some time. The opportunity presented itself when I met my girlfriend Munkey who is a trained piercer and even though it may sound a coincidence that she can do this it is far from the case that there was any persuasion from her to do this. In fact it was me who brought the subject up quite a while back and I think she was more surprised than me at the time.

So I'm sitting calmly but excited at what is about to happen. Munkey is in her kitchen busy preparing herself and the tray of bits and pieces needed. I got to see the needle so I know what is going through my anatomy and I'm strangely very comfortable with the whole idea. Munkey comes through with the tray and I can tell she is pumped but also wary of the fact that she is about to pierce her boyfriend in a rather precious part of his body.

I'm now lying on the sofa with a towel underneath to stop any of the expected blood ruining it and Munkey is gloving up and preparing to put some of the xylocaine spray down my urethra via a receiving tube. We both decided on this course of action from a previous attempt and it worked very well as it numbed the exit area perfectly after a few minutes. I feel a strange sense of excitement but also nervousness about what is going to happen. Munkey opens up the sachet with the 19mm x 2.4mm BCR and checks that it is going to be right for the piercing. She's happy and we go ahead.

I calm myself and try to relax a little but the anticipation and excitement of it all is now kicking in – I'm going to have my P.A. at last. I'm lying with my head looking at the area in question and unable to look away easily due to the arm of the sofa so I decide it is better to close my eyes even though I would like to watch, it will probably be easier if I don't. It's going to happen soon and I feel that the area it will exit is now definitely numb. Munkey asks me if I'm okay and if I'm ready. I say yes, close my eyes and regulate my breathing as she inserts the cannula with needle withdrawn into my urethra and I feel nothing. I think of things to distract me a little but it's hard to but I'm smiling. Munkey tells me it is in and asks me if I'm ready again. I say I'm fine and give her a thumbs up for good measure. She tells me to take a deep breath in so I do and ready myself to breathe out slowly.

I feel some slight pain and let out my breath slowly – "Its through babe" she says and I want to look but I know I mustn't just yet as the jewellery needs to be put through. I continue to breathe deep and slow – but I feel the elation and I'm smiling while feeling a little strange in my stomach but I'm not going to pass out – this is great! I somehow sense that Munkey is pleased for me and for herself too as this is her first P.A. piercing and something she has wanted to do for sometime. She puts the ball closure ring through fairly quick and I open my eyes. I have a P.A. I'm pumped up and grinning with pleasure at what I have now got and the whole experience. Munkey is as well and I can tell that this has been one hell of a rush for her too as we kiss. I'm lucky as there was not much blood and I guess that was down to the control I kept and the breathing. Munkey agreed that I was very good and it made it easier for her. I start thinking about what to have done next. Think it will be something more simple next time but I'm hooked and want more.

So it's now in place and down to caring for my new piercing as I have been advised but most importantly though I can now truly join the MIP club. This morning I woke up to look at my new addition and discovered that I had got a little messy but nothing too serious and no real discomfort so all is good.
