I'd wanted piercings for years, but had never got round to it. So on a Friday afternoon in late October '05, I decided to take the plunge.

It might seem strange to go for a PA first, but I figured this was probably (psychologically) the worst piercing for a guy. If I could this done, then any other piercing would be easy.

After reading a good experience about Flux body studio on this site, I picked the phone up and rang to make an appointment. I got through to Claire, who was very helpful on the phone, and made an appointment for that afternoon.

So 2 hours later I found myself parking the car up, and nervously walking the short distance to the studio. I've got to admit that I nearly turned around and went home, but after a quick smoke to bolster my nerves, I entered the studio.

My fears began to evaporate from the moment I entered. The studio looks great inside, and seems more like a mainstream jewellery store – maybe not a big deal for some, but it looked very professional.

After completing the usual forms saying I wasn't on drugs etc., Claire offered a desensitising spray before the piercing was done. Not being sure of what to expect, I took the spray, and Claire explained that a few squirts on the outside of my penis should do the job. She also told me to roll a tissue to a point, spray it and push it down my urethra to help deaden it as well.

After using the spray in a back room, Claire explained that it took about 5 minutes to kick in, so I took a seat in the studio and waited.

After the 5 minutes was up, I was led through to the piercing room, which was small and clean – probably much like a doctors reception room. After dropping my trousers and pants, I got up on the piercing couch and tried to relax. Unfortunately my penis had decided to go into self preservation mode, and seemed to have shrunk, but Claire explained this happened with a lot of guys.

As I'm not circumcised, Claire explained that the PA would have to exit to the left or right of my frenum. I chose the left, and Claire marked the piercing point with a pen.

Before the piercing, my penis was swabbed with Iodine, which Claire explained might leave a yellow tinge, but was nothing to worry about. Then I lay back and relaxed as Claire got to work.

Claire warned me that the receiving tube might give a sand paper like feeling as it was inserted, but a few deep breaths in and out and the tube was in. I'd been expecting it to hurt like hell, but it went in so quickly that I hardly noticed it.

The actual piercing and jewellery insertion was a very quick procedure, and again relatively pain free – which surprised me. I don't know why but I'd been expecting a lot of pain, so was glad the procedure was quick and painless. (Although Claires years of experience probably helped).

The entire procedure was so quick, I was amazed when Claire said it was over and I got my first look at my Prince Albert. It looked great, and my only regret was I hadn't had it done years ago.

There was a little bleeding, but Claire explained how to apply pressure to stop it, and it had almost stopped within a minute or so. My penis was then wrapped in tissue, and a rubber glove put over it which was held in place by a rubber band at the base of my shaft.

Claire then ran through the aftercare of the piercing, and explained that after it was fully healed I might want to stretch it. I was supplied with an aftercare package, and left the studio feeling great.

Walking back to the car was easy, albeit at a slower pace then usual. It felt great just knowing I'd finally gone through with it.

The piercing bled a few times for the first 24 hours, but not excessively – just a few drops of blood, which I fully expected anyway. As a precaution I left the glove on for the first night (without the rubber band), and it hasn't bled since.

The first trip to the toilet was a little painful, but not impossible – it just meant taking it slowly. The second time I needed to urinate, there was no problem at all. It's going to take a little practise to 'shoot' straight while standing up, but it's coming.

The aftercare's been easy as well, so I can say I'm very pleased with the piercing and would recommend it to anyone.

If you're thinking of having a PA, just do it – don't wait years like I did. I've only had it a short time, but I'm already looking forward to when it's healed, so I can stretch it. It looks good, and feels good as well.

After a small beginning, I'm already hooked and looking forward to what I'll have pierced next – maybe a ladder up my scrotum, or both nipples.
