After months of weighing it up, I finally got a Prince Albert. I'd been considering a Prince Albert for a long time. While I was in Canada I'd gotten my right nipple pierced and was very happy with the way it turned out. The increase in sensation was amazing, and it felt great to look into the mirror and see this piece of metal sticking out of my chest. So in that spirit, I had decided that some day soon I would have to get a Prince Albert.

I'd investigated all of the body piercers in the Canberra area, which turned out to be a very short list indeed. At one point it looked as though I might have to travel to Sydney to get a decent piercer!
At almost the last minute, I found Adrenlin Body Piercing over on the north side of Canberra. They'd had a few good reviews in regards to PAs, and when I rang to get some more information they were very polite and well-informed. My fears put to rest for the moment, I made a booking for the afternoon of Friday the 13th.
The piercer was a decent guy with no sense of humor at all: on reflection, I think it's probably better than a practical joker! I found his studio with very little trouble: it was a converted lower level of a house in the suburbs: all of his wares were displayed, as well as list of piercings, prices, cleaning solutions and most importantly a fair number of testimonials displayed on the walls. I talked to him for a few minutes beforehand, just to confirm the whole procedure and to sign the consent forms. I talked to him a bit about his experience in PAs. He mentioned that the PA was the most popular of genital piercings that he does, and has had very few clients develop any sort of problem with them.
We went into the studio, I dropped my pants (my dick at this stage trying its best to retreat back up into my body) and laid down on the table. He cleaned me up, marked where it'd come out, and put the recieving tube in.
At this point, I'm pretty nervous.. as he'd told me earlier, the anticipation is far worse than the pain. He gave me a bit of a warning that my legs would probably jump, and did the piercing.
It felt like a sudden sharp pinch on the underside of my dick. My legs did indeed jump, and a half-hearted 'fuck!': but it really didn't hurt at all. The jewellery went on completely painlessly, and that was about it! Had a bit more of a discussion with him about aftercare, just covering the bases.
I was surprised.. I had read quite a bit about it over the last few months and everyone made a point of mentioning how painless it is. They were pretty much right. Oh, and the piercers last words, after I mentioned how adverse I am to watching a piercing being done, was along the lines of: "Wow.. well, lucky you didn't see the size of the needle I used!". I ended up with a 10 gauge curved barbell, exactly what I went in to get.
I drove home with a huge bulge in my pants (from the gauze he wrapped it up in) with no difficulty. It wasn't hurting at all, though when I had to piss a few hours later I found that it had bled quite a lot, some of it congealing on the end. Very yuck. After I cleaned it up and rebandaged it, the piercing behaved itself by bleeding very little over the next two days: only a few spots of blood and that was about it. I kept up the cleaning regime of salt soaks and cleaning it out. Urinating wasn't a problem: I can still do it standing up with very little spray, but I find that turning my dick sideways definately improves aim and stops anything dripping out the bottom.
Compared to my only other piercing, the nipple, my PA was very quick, very painless and it heals amazingly fast! Get one: they feel great and it becomes a hell of a conversation point. Everyone I've mentioned it to develops a facial expression somewhere between awe and uneasiness. It's very hard to convince them that no, it doesn't hurt to get one. Even my doctor has expressed surprise over it: does it hurt, why did you get it, did it heal quickly, etc.
Overall it was a terrific experience. The initial piercing barely hurt, the aftercare was easy and straightforward, and the healing period was very quick. Now that it's all healed up, it feels terrific! As soon as I can, I'm going to try stretching it up to the next size and see how that feels.
