The following relates some of my experiences with the Prince Albert piercing. This is a bit long, but will hopefully provide some good information to anyone interested. One thing I didn't see much of in the other experiences was anything about jewelry, other than CBRs. I have done some experimenting with different types of jewelry, and put a little info about that in here. Hope this helps.

I had always been fascinated by the PA, but never really had the drive to learn more about it until about 6 months ago. I had only the holes I was born with, but really started to like the things I read about the PA. After quite a bit of reading, here and some other sites, I decided to go ahead and do it. I was unsure of where I would get this done, so I decided to check out the studio where my girlfriend had her navel pierced several years ago. I was very impressed by their website, and had a good feeling that it was the place to go. So I had her make an appointment for me, as I was in Florida for a wedding until Wednesday, and wanted to get it as soon as I got back, OK, a day or two after I got back so we could get in some intimacy prior to the expected dry spell.

I guess my biggest hang up was that some guy would be handling my unit. I was initially planning on having a woman perform the piercing, but then I started to think, and realized that it would be best to have the most experienced person perform the procedure, be it a male or a female. I had never been pierced, and had never been to this studio, so I didn't know who would be doing it. I guess I let it go, and said to myself that it didn't matter which gender the piercer was, as long as they were experienced. Granted, this studio has a female piercer, I guess the luck of the draw dictated that a male would be doing it.

The day arrived, and I picked my girlfriend up from work. We had 90 minutes to kill, and the anticipation was eating me up, I just wanted to get it done. We stopped for a quick bite at a nasty fast food joint, and drove around a bit. We arrived 20-30 minutes before the appointment time and took care of paperwork and browsed the jewelry selection. My girlfriend had planned on getting a vertical hood, but forgot her ID, no biggie, we came back the next day for it, and it looks soooo damn sexy on her.

I was impressed by this studio's website, I was even more impressed by the actual studio. The entire staff was very professional as well as friendly. We selected jewelry, and I waited while things were readied. After a few moments, I was called back. My girlfriend and I headed into the procedure room, Nate, the piercer, and his apprentice left the room to give me a chance to remove my jeans and boxers. I sat on the immaculately clean table, with my elbows propping me up, as I wasn't going to miss seeing this. Nate and Tyson, the apprentice, knocked and asked if I was ready for them to come back in, I said sure. I asked if the table could be propped up so I could watch, they said of course. Tyson put on a pair of gloves, propped the back of the table up, asked if it was OK, removed his gloves, threw them away, and put on a new pair. All in all, throughout the piercing, I saw Nate change gloves at least six times. Everything was spotless, everything was clean. It ma de me feel confident that these people knew what they were doing.

Nate asked if I had any questions, I had a few general ones, which he answered clearly. Then, not to be a prick, but just for the hell of it, I asked about seeing spore test documentation for their autoclaves. No problem. I really felt I could trust this studio, and now, I know I can, as I let Nate pierce my girlfriend's hood the following day.

Time for the inspection and marking of Lord Helmet. I dreaded this more than the expected pain, and it was apparent, because once those gloved, MALE hands got near him, he shrank, and shrank, and tried to turn turtle, as if to say "Yeah, I'm strong enough for a man, but made for a woman."

The three of us lived through it, Lord Helmet, my woman, and myself. The area was thoroughly cleaned and marked, and I was given the opportunity to see if the placement was acceptable. How the hell should I know, this is my first piercing, so I trusted that it was.

Unfortunately, I looked at the tray, and saw what had to be the receiving tube I had read so much about, and thought, "Damn, that's a thick F'n tube." The insertion of it was not pleasant for me. I've read experiences that compare it to sandpaper, and I think that's pretty accurate, though I've never had sandpaper in there, so I guess it's what I would imagine it would feel like. It was probably the worst part, yet was tolerable.

With the receiving tube in place, my breathing had become noticeably shallow, not to me, but my girlfriend reminded me to take deep breaths. Nate also advised me to take deep breaths, inhale slowly, hold it, exhale slowly, inhale slowly, on the next exhale I'll pierce, hold it, exhale slowly...Wow, there was some pain, but it was very short lived. True, it was somewhat intense, but easily tolerable, and it was over almost instantly. He removed the receiving tube, which was a major relief, corked the needle, and changed gloves for the millionth time. He said that I might feel some moving around as the ring was inserted, but I didn't feel a thing. The bead was placed, and a clean up was done, I now had a bright and shiny 7/8 10g CBR through the head of my beloved cock!, Part of me couldn't believe I had finally had it done. Very little blood was shed. He asked if I felt OK, actually, I felt great, but it was nice that they wanted to make sure. He asked if I wanted it b andaged, I said that I did, as I had read a couple of horror stories about bleeding. He carefully placed several gauze pads, and held them in place with a small rubber band. It looked like a little chef's hat, but no bag job with a glove like I had read about in many of the experiences here. Turned out, I wouldn't have needed it anyway. Nate had informed me that I could use a non-lubricated condom if needed to catch blood, but I was lucky, I never had much blood, except for the first urination, but more on that in a bit.

No trouble walking or driving afterwards. On the way home, we stopped at a drug store to pick up some supplies. I had purchased the soap and salt at the studio for a very reasonable price, but wanted to get some spare gauze and a box of gloves, just to be extra safe. We stopped at a video store and rented something, can't remember what, and headed home to get comfy.

I was a little concerned about emptying my bladder for the first time after my new addition. It seemed like forever, waiting until I felt the need to relieve myself. Part of me worried that it would hurt, but a bigger part of me wanted to get it over with already. Eventually, the time came. My girlfriend, out of morbid curiosity, I guess, wanted to watch. I had previously decided that I'd get in the shower so I could do it standing up, basically so I could see how this was going to affect bathroom visits for the rest of my life. We ever so carefully removed the bandage, and I stood in the shower. Hanging from the ring was a mixture of coagulated blood, gauze, and who knows what. This was a bit nasty looking, as you may imagine. The stream of urine started to flow. Much to my surprise, there was no pain at all, and no anesthetics had been used for this piercing. No pain or discomfort, but it was odd to see a stream of very dark blood coming out of me. This turned to a more pinkish tint, but drops of blood fell after the urine flow stopped. This didn't really bother me, as I had actually expected to bleed much more. My girlfriend nearly fainted seeing this, which is odd, as she has seen much worse. Oh well, we both made it.

We wrapped him back up, watched the rest of the movie, and hit the sack. I woke up with an erection, and the gauze floating around in my boxers, only a drop or two of blood though. I think the gauze removed itself because I had not done quite the bandaging job that Nate had. The first cleaning was the most difficult, but it wasn't any big deal. I scrubbed my hands, and then put on a pair of latex gloves before I even started. For the first week or two, I wore gloves for the cleaning, but eventually realized that washing my hands was probably adequate. It took a while to get the dried blood off of the ring and piercing area during that first cleaning, but warm water and several Q-Tips did it. My basic aftercare routine was to wash it with Provon during my morning shower, and soak it for 10 minutes in sea salt (1/8 tsp / 8oz warm water) before going to bed. No major problems during healing, over the next few days, it pinched here and there, but nothing that would kill me. Some crusties, but not a lot, and they became less and less as the weeks progressed and pretty much disappeared by week 3 or 4. What did kill me was the inability to have sex. It was a bit tender.

On day 7, it was time for a test drive. Manual stimulation only, and gently. The orgasm was unreal, it felt so fantastic, I was really getting anxious for the real deal, but knew it wasn't going to happen for a while. On day 9, F-it, it was time to try. Non-lubricated condom, regular size, yikes! On the rare occasion we use a condom, Magnums are the only way to go. OK, carefully stretch this tiny little condom over a 7/8 CBR, not fun, but doable. Now, the moment of truth. Try to carefully slide him in, Ouch, major discomfort and frustration. Over the next 3 weeks, we tried two or three times, pretty much the same deal, except I was able to get inside all the way for a little while, and it felt good, but became too painful to orgasm.

The 7/8 CBR was great for healing, but it flopped around too much for functionality. At 4 weeks, I went back, and had the jewelry changed to a 3/4 curved barbell, wow, what a difference. I know CBRs and circular barbells are the most common for this piercing, but I'm sold on the curved barbell. After a 15 minute drive home, we were at it, and it was soooooooooooooooooooo amazing, even with a condom on, which is wild, because I hate condoms. Then and there, I knew I was going to love this piercing.

At about 6 or 7 weeks, I wanted to try a smaller CBR, just for the hell of it. I drew several rings, to scale, on AutoCAD, and held the paper up to see what size would work. 5/8 looked good, so I bought one, came home, and inserted it. First erection showed me that it was too small, so I removed it, and went back to the barbell. Two weeks or so after that, I tried a 3/4, it felt good, but when she started going down on me, it felt a little uncomfortable, so I ran upstairs and put the trusty barbell back in. Once the piercing toughens up a bit more, I may try the ring again and see, but I think I'll stretch it to an 8g or 6g first.

My PA has been in for a little over 3 months, and I think it's time to stretch it up a size pretty soon. I can't wait, as I've already felt the benefits, and read so many experiences by people who said that it only gets better when you go bigger. If you are thinking of getting this done, don't wait, you'll regret it. OK, wait long enough to research it until you feel comfortable with it, and most importantly, find yourself a good piercer. I am grateful that I found an excellent studio for my first mod. If and when I decide on another, I know exactly where to go. Which reminds me of a decision, should I get the reverse PA to make an apadravya, should I get an ampallang, should I do both and have a magic cross, or should I just stretch the PA? Who knows, but I can tell you that the PA has been great to me so far.
