After many months of reviewing and surfing piercing forums and sites on PA's I decided to go to Old Age Studios in St. Louis MO. On 11/30/03 upon arriving at the studio I paid, filled out the normal forms, and looked at the aftercare instructions while they set up the studio. When it was ready I enter the room and was greeted by Scott, he informed me how I needed to sit and prepped up the station for a PA piercing. The studio was clean and comfortable and the staff was friendly. He even had an apprentice there to watch while they were in training. I did not feel uncomfortable with that studio on bit.

I have heard many horror stories about some piercing studios, but I have yet to hear anything bad about Old Age Studios. I made sure I did all the necessary research before I even attempted a PA. I would not trust just any studio or piercer on this type of piercing.
Scott went with a 10 ga 1" CBR. There was only about a few seconds worth of pain when he inserted the receiving tube and the needle. He quickly inserted the CBR and I was finished. He told me to look at it in the mirror to see if it was ok. It was perfect. No blood and minimal pain. I was in and out of the studio in less than 10 mins. total.
I continued with the aftercare of sea salt soaks and anti-bacterial soap cleaning for several weeks and it healed quickly. I only had minor discomfort during the whole healing process. I would encourage everyone to get pierced with a large CBR on this piercing. It is much easier in cleaning and soaking because you can spin the ring and get the soap inside the piercing. It would be somewhat difficult with other types of jewelry. But again that is just my experience. Peeing was not difficult at all. The first time I peed it only burned a little bit but after the first time it was fine. I did not have to much problems with splashing while standing up. You just have to move closer to the urinal or toilet. But while at home I Just sit down. You can rotate your penis and ring so you can pee better with no splash but it is not always necessary. The only splash I get is when you stop peeing and it runs down the ring.
Sex with the ring is not too uncomfortable, I am thinking when I change jewelry and upsize it will be better. It gets uncomfortable to me when the ring gets pushed back into your penis. Seems the CBR has a whole lot more movement than probably other jewelry. But also I am only 3 months into this piercing and only time will make it better and easier. My girlfriend loves it because she likes the cold steel feeling she gets when you insert it. But she says with the CBR oral is a little bit more difficult.
Now it is time to change my jewelery and get it stretched to a larger gauge. I am excited about getting it changed and stretched to see what other experiences I will have with my piercing. I have already ordered my new jewelry and going to get it changed by the piercer sometime in the next month. I do not think that the large gauge will cause any problems because it looks like the hole is already stretched a little. From my previous research they say that the PA is the easiest to stretch cause it does it on it own. I am going to only go one size larger. I am now going to upgrade to a 8 ga. 1" curved barbell with a 1/2" slave ring. My PA is great and I have had no major problems to date. Im after I upgrade I will start thinking about adding 2 Frenums to my genital piercing. I am thinking that will add to the excitement I am already getting with the PA. I probably will not get that until a few months from now. I will have to research that a little more to see if it i s something that will be comfortable to me as well as enjoyable and comfortable to my girlfriend.
I can suggest this piercing to anyone who is even thinking about it. It had minimal pain (only 3 seconds worth) and minimal discomfort in the healing, but you need to do your homework and check out all the piercing studios you have available to you. Talk with them to find out about their studio, equipment, procedures, etc. Do not be afraid to ask any questions. If they do not give you the answers you seek try another place. It is best that you get the best and friendliest studio you can to get this done. You will be pleased with the hard work you did and the end result. You want a studio who is proud of their work and experiences. They should be able to answer any questions you have or they are not worth your time. Good luck!!
