I can still remember the first time I ever saw a Prince Albert piercing. It was right here on BME and I was quite astonished that anyone in their right mind would ever consider doing such a thing to there fun bits. I mean, OUCH! The penis is about the most sensitive place you could stick a big ass needle into, let alone through.
At A Glance Author huricane Contact huricane@bme.anon When Two years ago Studio Symbols of Strength Location Calgary, Alberta About the same time that I saw the PA I was fascinated by nipple piercings and decided that I just had to have one. Well after two failed attempts (first one I freaked after pulling the skin tube out of it and the second rejected after two years of trying to get it to heal) I revisited the idea of the PA. I guess after two or three years of reading the experiences of others here and the overwhelming positives over negatives , I decided that it may be something I may want for myself. Both my nipple piercing had been done at Symbols of Strength in Calgary and I had had good luck with them. They had answered my questions and the piercers had been very good. So, with some trepidation, I went down and started asking questions of them regarding this piercing. I knew that the shop was clean and with my previous experience there I made the appointment. Now hindsight is twenty-twenty as they say and I should have listened to the little voice in my head saying try somewhere else. The young lady I talked to who was to pierce me claimed to have a lot experience but I had my doubts. I just put it down to nerves and went ahead anyways.
When I got there for my appointment I went into the room and dropped my pants and underwear and lay back on the table. We had decided to use a 14 gauge CBR (my first mistake, after my nipples I knew I should use a larger gauge). She lubed up the receiving tube and without any warning jammed it down my urethra. It felt like a tube of sand paper being shoved down there. It hurt like hell. I have never had anything down there anyways and having it shoved in didn't help. Then it was time for the needle. With very little warning, WHAM! It was through, quickly followed by the CBR. Bing, bang, boom...it was done. I was gloved and out the door I went. The needle wasn't the worst part it was the receiving tube.
I was a little nervous about the first time I urinated but it wasn't that bad, a little blood but very little sting. I bled very little and it quit altogether after about three days. I "tried" it out after a week and haven't regretted it since. I did have a couple of problems with it though. She placed it too deep and the ring was far to small a gauge for comfort. Instead of being just behind the glans she actually placed the hole at the edge of my foreskin. It took a few months for the foreskin to stretch and become comfortable. As well, the gauge of the ring should have been at least a 10 gauge, but she didn't want to pierce at that large of a ring (cheese cutter effect, wasn't really comfortable until I stretched to 10 gauge).
I have since found a new piercer, Keith at To the Point. He has done all my stretches and is great. He takes his time, doesn't rush and knows what he is doing. My first stretch was the worst. I went from a 14 gauge to a 10 gauge and it hurt like hell! It took about 15-20 minutes and was way worse than the original piercing. It think I had so much pain because of the deep placement and the fact that the hole passes through a thicker part of the urethra. My next stretches weren't nearly so bad. I waited about four months for the 14 to 10 gauge stretch, another three or four months for the 10 to 8 gauge stretch, another four to six to go from 8 to 6 and I got the 6 to 4 stretch about three months ago. The stretch from 6 to 4 gauge only stung for a few minutes. It's definitely getting easier the larger I go.
It is now about two years later and I enjoy this piercing very much. I am now at a 4 gauge CBB and think that this is as far as I am going to go. The CBB make urinating much easier as the urine can't run around the ring. Much less messy and the floor stays cleaner.
Anyone considering a PA, go for it. Just make sure you listen to that little voice in the back of head if you have any doubts about your piercer. It could save you some unnecessary pain.
