All in all it's been a couple of tough weeks for my genitals. Two weeks and one day after a vasectomy I'm laying on the couch in Flesh Wounds with my old boy being swabbed down in preparation for receiving a 10ga BCR.

Most of the bruising from the vasectomy had gone by now (expect for a deep purple blemish about halfway up the shaft) and all but one of the stitches had fallen out, so it seemed like the ideal time to sort the PA out. Something removed, something added. A certain type of symmetry I suppose.

After some initial discussion on the sizing ranging from 8-12ga we settled on 10, next came detailed aftercare instructions then we went from there.

Everything was meticulously clean. All the implements were fresh from sterile packaging with three pairs of gloves being used during the course of the piercing.

The whole cock head was swabbed down with Betadine (I think that was what it was) before starting, and the whole process clearly explained as it progressed. Positioning was determined (more or less right in the centre rather than offset which I was quite pleased about).

Next the receiver tube was inserted into the Urethra. Hamish warned that this was the piece that most guys found strangest. I'm inclined to agree. The feeling of the cold tube being pushed (gently) upwards is a tough one to describe but was slightly prickly or tingly. Not painful but a very unusual sensation.

By this stage my Wife is clutching my hand (repaying me the favour I did for her a few minutes earlier during her Septum piercing) and there's a piece of me that's thinking "It's not too late to back out". Nervous? Fuck yeah.

Out comes the needle (which incidentally looks like a lance to me) and it's inserted into the tube. Hamish says "I'll count to 3, inhale on 2 and exhale on 3".

He does, I inhale, he pushes, I yowl (a bit) in surprise, then there's a rod sticking out the underside of my cock with a bit of cork on the end. Sadly, the wife's a little squeamish about these things, so wasn't able to accede to my request to rush out and get the camera to capture this moment for posterities sake.

Next the BCR is attached and after a little bit of cleaning up, I'm packed up with handy towel and all done.

A trot around Wellington to find some lunch and then back home via the supermarket to pick up a few suggested items. Cotton buds (for the Wife's Septum). Vitamin C and Zinc as it's mentioned in the aftercare documentation as being reputedly beneficial and a few jars of Cranberry juice on the basis that it helps reduce the acidity for cystitis so is likely to help a little here too.

A few hours later and it's first piss time (sitting) and much bladder control is required to let only the tiniest drop out at first. There's a slight burning sensation for about a half a second, then I'm merrily pissing away more or less like normal.

This is my first opportunity to really examine my new toy and it looks pretty good. Of course there's a bit of blood which is unsurprising but still mildly shocking.

I'm keeping up the fluids but am not really looking forward to the first morning piss as I expect that to be more difficult than the earlier one. We'll see.

I shower in the evening and gently clean using the anti-bacterial soap provided. Not to painful but strikingly similar to that scene out of Carrie. Ok, perhaps that's a little exaggerated but it was quite surprising given the relatively small amount of blood earlier. Another not to painful piss to flush out any remaining soap, then into the sea-salt (provided) water goes my old fella. A 15 minute soak causes the water to take on a reddish tinge but not to bad really.

So, in my opinion the first day has passed quite well. Once the pseudo-horrors of the first AM piss are out of the way I'll be laughing (well, in a few weeks anyway...)

Wake up a couple of times in the night and piss some more, again quite painless. The first proper AM piss has to be the longest on record but because of the fluid intake not a problem at all. Because the previous toilet visits were uneventful I didn't really look down until I was down.

Blood and loads of it (well, enough to turn the water a striking red, but I guess a little goes a long way). Not painful but a slow and steady drip. Quite a surprise I can tell you. Once this diminished went back to bed for a while then had my shower and commenced cleaning. This was slow work but not to difficult. Another painless piss after drying off followed by the "salty cock soak" and by mid morning there wasn't any sign of blood.

Hopefully that's it for the red stuff. I think the worst part is over now, and boy, does it look good. I'm happy with it, my wife's happy it. It remains to be seen if those people that I'll show it to once it's all healed will be happy with it, but that's their problem :-)

Once it's all healed up properly I can see myself wanting to stretch it out some, but that's a way of yet.

In summary, yes, it did hurt a little, but no more and probably less than my Labret (which is my only point of reference). In my opinion, it was not significantly worse than a dental anaesthetic injection and over much faster. The blood was a little disconcerting, but I was adequately prepared for that, and at this point just over 24 hours later the bleeding seems to have stopped and I've got a shiny new toy.

Very pleased with the whole process.
