I had been thinking about getting a Prince Albert for a few years. My buddy and I were going to do it together just because we didn't know anyone else that had had it done. I think we were 18 and legally capable of having Pedro pierced. We started doing research and just never really got around to doing it. My buddy died a couple of years later and I wanted a way to remember him. I decided that it was time. I was unemployed, however, so I didn't have the cash to have my boy pierced. With some help from other friends I made it to Hoops to have it done. I had been talking to my roommate about getting it done and he thought that it might be something interesting to have done himself. So we decided to go together.

A small group of us went down to Hoops. Darrick and I paid and went to the waiting room. A few minutes later Lon came out and asked who was going first. It was my idea so I went in and sat in the chair. They (Lon and his female assistant) asked me to drop my drawers. I must admit I was a little uncomfortable doing it but I decided that I knew it was going to happen so I needed to get over it. They put the blue sterile paper around my penis like I was going in for surgery and then she started pushing a q-tip down my urethra with lidocane on it to help with the pain. That actually didn't hurt at all. She was very gentle (if you live in the Tri-City area I would HIGHLY recommend Hoops for all of your piercing needs!). They numbed about half of a q-tip length in and then they marked where the piercing was going to go.

The next thing I saw coming at me was a HUGE catch tube. When they pierce it comes from the outside of your penis, goes in through the skin and out your pee-hole. The tube wouldn't slide into my urethra because it was too tight. They were saying that they didn't think it would be able to be pierced because of this. I told them that it would go in and they would just have to push harder, so they did. POP, it finally passed the tight spot in the head of my penis. Here comes the needle. I was pierced with a 6ga ring and the ring slid in easily after the piercing so I am going to assume that the needle was a 4ga. Lon gripped my penis and the catch tube firmly and then warned me. "This is going to hurt a little (I'm thinking "Right you're putting a seemingly huge hole in my penis and it's going to hurt a "little""), but I've gone through the same thing so I know what it's like". His hand starts shaking a little because it takes some pressure to punch that much skin out and he pushes the needle through in one quick movement. He slides the catch tube out and puts a cork on the end of the needle to avoid being poked by it. Next the ring enters. The ring (3/4" surgical stainless captive bead) slid right in and the ball went in with precision and skill. It was obvious that Lon had done this before. I was surprised; it didn't hurt nearly as bad as I was anticipating. My tongue piercing hurt worse. They wrapped gauze, a paper towel and then rubber banded a rubber glove around my new piercing for the ride home. As I pulled my pants up and tucked everything in, Lon went over keeping it clean and bleeding factors. He told me that some Prince Albert's bleed a lot and some not at all. My roommate was next.

We went home and immediately to the bathroom to compare wounds. I peeled my dressings off a bit at a time to find that there was about three drops of blood on the gauze, my roommate on the other hand dropped his pants to find that four of the five fingers on his rubber glove were filled with blood. I spotted for about four days and he bled hard four about three days. We called Lon and he said that it was normal so he didn't go to the doctor for it. That first night I needed to pee and I thought that the shower would be the best place to do it because I couldn't really apply the pressure needed to close the hole off and I didn't think I could aim two holes on the toilet. I got in the shower with the water on and peed. That was where the pain was. The pain from the hot salty urine going through the fresh piercing almost made me black out. I wasn't expecting it at all. I was expecting pain, generally about what I felt during the piercing process but it was FAR MORE INT ENSE than that. I had to stop and sit down in the shower because I was afraid that I was going to fall over. I got dizzy and my eyesight turned black. I couldn't see the pain was so intense. I finished and dreaded the next time I had to do it. The pain was only bad for a couple of days and then it was still there, sharp and alerting but not so intense. After about a week it was just a dull ache. I was told to drink more water as that would dilute my urine and make it easier to pass through because there would be less salt in it than a concentrated urine from only drinking pepsi, or no water at all (which is what I usually did). I couldn't decide what to do, drinking more water would dilute my urine but it would also increase the quantity. I decided to just live my life like it wasn't there and drink how I would have been drinking otherwise. I didn't like taking a leak. It hurt. Be prepared. But I made a mistake. 53 hours after I was pierced I went to the colle ge to see my girlfriend and she wanted to have sex. I wasn't about to deny her because she was another factor in deciding to get pierced. I put the condom on as directed and that hurt. I tried to enter her but the pain was too much so I took the condom off. I had to put the ring in and then follow it with my penis and that was o.k. It didn't hurt. We humped away got off and went to bed. I didn't clean it after sex. BIG MISTAKE! If you get pierced KEEP IT CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN! VERY IMPORTANT! An infected penis HURTS! Because of that my penis became infected, there was puss, crusty buildup on the ring and I went through a TON of q-tips cleaning that little bastard off (the ring!). Eventually, cleaning my junk about once every 45 minutes except at night when the pain would sometimes wake me up, it healed. And it looked good. My girl loved it, she loved having it in her mouth, in her hand she loved playing with it and she loved the sex even more because of it. I liked it too, it looked good, it felt a little different during sex but I think what I like about it the most was the weight of the heavy ring hanging from the end of my penis. People are interested and they will want to see it. I got over my "shy penis syndrome" and have shown it to countless people, male and female. Girls love it. I would recommend this piercing but you have to be able to deal with some pain while it is healing and remember that it will heal eventually, even if it does get infected. Also wear a condom when you have sex after you are pierced at least for a month and clean it when you are done. My roommates piercing healed a little slower than mine but we both healed nicely. If you decide to do it, good luck, it's not that bad and the pain goes away.
