For a number of years I have wanted a Prince Albert piercing. I love the way they look. My wife however was not too keen on the idea. When I finally got the nerve up to tell her I wanted one she was hesitant. But since I have been changing the way I look and look at myself she knew I was going to do it anyways.

We made plans to go and have it done in Studio 42. Her friend and husband have been running it for two or three years now. They were trained in Tennessee, which as I understand has very stringent laws regarding tats and piercing, so I was cool with going to them. Pennsylvania by the way has no laws. This means be very careful in choosing the place you get stabbed at. Make certain they use an autoclave. HIV is not reliably killed by a quick dunk in alcohol. So please be careful here in PA. Glenn, the piercer, is a nut for sterile conditions. They have two autoclaves and he sprayed everything before and after, and showed me all the other measure they take for cleanliness.

So off we went at about 18:00 on a Friday. We got there and hung out in the studio for a while and got caught up on everything. Glenn asked what I wanted and I told him. He said let's do it, so we went into the parlor and closed the door.

He showed me the sterile equipment and explained the procedure. Off with the pants and such and on the table I went. I think this was the worst part. The wait was killing me. Not really nervous but very apprehensive, and very excited. It was my first piercing and I was about to do something I had wanted to for years. He got ready and the lubed up the receiving tube. Now that sucked. He inserted the tube and what a feeling. It was very uncomfortable. Glenn had warned me that this was the worst part. Then he told me to expect a sharp pain as he pushed the needle through. I did the three breaths thing and wham! The needle was in. I looked down and saw the needle poked through my penis. That is not something I want to see again. At least not for a good while. To say the least it was weird, bordering on freakish.

I have to say that it wasn't near as bad as I had figured. It hurt like hell but was tolerable. Glenn put in the 14g CBR and it was done. He gave me a 618 stainless with a black bead. It looks really nice with the black bead. I got up, put my pant's on and went back out to where my wife was waiting. We all went back into the house and talked for about an hour more. We decided that we should leave so we walked up the street and bought some D&G pizza, Beaver Falls is the place for pizza, and went home. I pierced at 14g because that is what they had receiving tubes sterilized for, had I called first I could have gone straight to 10g which is where I will stop. The wife will not let me go any further, so oh well. My choice would be to stop at 8g. I figure I am going to get a niobium CBR as my permanent jewelry.

The coolest thing is to look down and see a piece of steel in me. Some rather uncool things I was to discover is peeing. Now that takes some getting used to. I found that if I hold the bead on top that I don't drip on everything. Sex is better now, but that may be from the period of no sex that follows the piercing. Other than that it is like an ear piercing but different. Next week I think I will taper up to a 10g CBR as the piercing is getting rather loose.

About healing, for me it went rather well. I cleaned it three times a day with antibacterial soap and soaked in brine once a day. About a week ago it was very sore for a few days and then I got what looks like a piece of skin out of it. It was perhaps three millimeters square. The piercing felt much better after that was discharged. I don't really know what it was but I am glad it is gone. I am still remaining faithful to my cleaning but I don't really think it is necessary.

A word of warning to anyone who wants a body piercing, they are addictive. I am hooked now and want to get my nipples done after the first of the year. I am also considering getting a hafda or two. I can't recommend Studio 27 enough. Go there!
