Nipples and Prince Albert
At A Glance Author Anders Contact stainless69@hotmail.com Artist Joakim Eriksson Studio Barbarella Piercingstudio Location Göteborg (Gothenburg), Sweden By today's standard it would seem that my piercing experiences go back a bit longer than usual, since it is almost to the day 5 years ago since I first experienced the sting of the piercing needle. The circumstances were not that unusual; I had just broken up from a long relationship and felt the need to start doing what I wanted and to signify my newly won freedom. In 1996 piercing was pretty much an unknown activity in Sweden. Of course you could see (mainly) girls flashing their navels and the occasional nostril, but apart from that not much. But through BME I had come to understand that there was much more to do... So one day in June 1993 I decided to go for it and have my nipples pierced, and made an appointment at Barbarella Bodypiercing here in Göteborg, which was and is one of the best studios in Sweden and Scandinavia, well worth a visit. There is no way denying that I was pretty nervous when I woke up on the big day. Up until then I had been a very straight person and my decision to pierce my nipples was one that I could not even explain fully to myself, let alone anyone else. I had never even considered piercing my ears, so the thought that I would go to bed that day with two steel rings in my nipples was bewildering to say the least. When I arrived at Barbarella and stepped through the door I felt like I had a whole farm of unruly butterflies flying around inside me. After a few minutes of waiting in the comfortable fore room I was allowed into the actual piercing room. This was a relatively small room, furnished like a medical examination room with a berth, a full size mirror on the wall and some cupboards. Everything was meticulously clean and in the air was the smell of anti bacterial detergent, which made me feel very confident in the hygienic standards. The piercer was Joakim Eriksson (I hope I remember right), a very calm and relaxing person. He explained everything about the proceedings before asking me to take my shirt off. After cleaning both nipples with an antiseptic the most difficult part took place, marking. Since I was going to have both nipples pierced, it was extremely important to get both piercing lined up properly, in order not to ruin the aesthetics of the piercing. After a couple of attempts we were both satisfied with the marks and the actual piercing took place. The most uncomfortable part was the clamping. Since my nipples were pretty small it was difficult to get a good grip, but finally the right one held firmly I place and Joakim put the needle through. The pain was intense, but faded quickly. The procedure was repeated for the other side, a bit more pain this time, which Joakim explained was more or less psychosomatic; I didn't manage to relax as well as the first time which made me more sensitive. After a couple of moments to get myself together I stood in front of the mirror and there they were; two glittering horseshoe barbells adorning my chest. That's when the big adrenalin rush came and it was all clear to me that I had passed a very significant threshold in my life. During the rest of the day the pain varied from bad, when the jewellery got caught to a sort of numb feeling, which had almost subsided the next day. During healing I washed carefully 2-3 times a day, in my case sufficient since I experienced no problems at all. After a couple of months I stretched them to accommodate a 1,5/25 mm BCR that further enhanced the looks. This is a truly great piercing; it looks great and really improves the sensitivity of the nipple. I have had no problems at all, apart from getting the ring caught in a shower, almost tearing it out. That was painful. Very painful....
As would seem the case with most people who progress further than an ordinary ear ring I had caught the piercing germ, already when I walked out the door from Barbarella I had decided to go below the belt with my next piercing. One of the most attractive of the male genital piercings in my view is the Prince Albert, so this was the first on my "wish list". After I asked the staff at Barbarella a couple of questions regarding healing and other complications I set a new appointment. I also read a number of experiences here at BME, none of which was discouraging. This time I was far less nervous, in fact more filled with anticipation than nervousness. Just as the first time it was Joakim who performed the piercing, again very professionally. The process this time was quicker since there was no alignment to do, just find the right spot. Oddly I never felt awkward about the thought of having an unknown man pushing a needle through a part of my penis, it was only an instant when I dropped my pants I thought, "hey, what are you getting into". Thereafter my main problem was to prevent an erection from arising. It is a rather funny feeling when the familiar "itching" begins, when you know that in a couple of minutes a needle will be shoved through parts of the member. Once Joakim was satisfied with the marking he quickly clamped me and in an instant, with much less pain, almost none, compared to the nipples, I had a ring entering the lower side of the penis, exiting through the urethra. There was almost no bleeding and after a few moments no pain at all, which I found rather surprising. Joakim explained that this was one of the fastest healing piercings of all, together with the tongue since "man is basically about eating and fornicating". This proved to be true, the first time I urinated afterwards there was a stinging sensation, but this was gone the day after. I was also able to have an erection and masturbate the day after. Perhaps not recommended, but I was damn curious to find out what it felt like. I also broke the rules on no sex for a few weeks afterwards. This time the curiosity was mutual, but it worked out well enough, only a slight pain after a while from the tugging of the ring on the hole. This was remedied by switching to a larger gauge ring, which spread the pressure over a great area of tissue.
Hopefully, if all has gone well, there is a newly taken picture of the PA in male picture section. And please feel free to e-mail me with comments or questions.
Over the five years that has gone since these three first piercings I have also had my tongue, navel, pubic and an ampallang done, none of which I have left, in fact the only one still left is the Prince Albert. The reason is really banal, I fell in love and had to choose between the piercings and her and in a weak moment I gave up. I have kept the PA as my own little secret since it was well healed and won't grow away even if I have no jewellery in for a longer period of time. But as I said, once the piercing germ has got a hold you will be back there, so one day I might choose the piercings again.
