Why did I wait so long?

I'm a gay white male, who first got turned on to PA piercing several years ago. I saw a picture of a man, with a pierced nipple and a PA piercing, and have been hooked ever since. I got my nipple pierced about 6 years ago, but never got the nerve up to get a PA, until now. This IS your fucking cock we're talking about.

First I did some research on PA piercing, here on BME and talked to several people who had one. Then I called and checked out the piercing studios in Wisconsin. I wanted to make sure I was getting an experienced piercer and a clean, professional studio. I asked many questions, to be sure the piercer knew his business, and had many PA piercings under his/her belt. I finally ended up making an appointment for about ten days down the road, for 5/23/01, at The Blue Lotus, in Madison. My piercer was Dan.

Now I had to wait for 5/23/01 to roll around. I was excited and nervous as hell. The night before the appointment, I got very little sleep. I drove the 3 1/2 hour drive to Madison, and got more nervous the closer I got. They told me to drink alot of water the day of the piercing, to water down my urine, for the first piss after the piercing. My heart was beating a mile a minute, when I first arrived. I went through the paper work with the guy at the front

desk, and picked out my jewelry. I picked out a 10 gauge, circular barbell to start with. Some studios will tell you that you have to start with a captive beaded ring, no larger than 14 gauge. They say that any larger ring will tear too much tissue to start with. The Blue Lotus had the most knowledge on this. They have years of experience doing piercings, and told me that 14 gauge is actually small for a PA piercing. It doesn't put enough pressure on the piercing.

I arrived about 15 minutes early, and now I just had to wait for Dan to arrive. I have to thank Dan, because there was a mix up with the appointment schedule. The Blue Lotus has more than one location. My appointment was made for a day that their studio, I was supposed to be pierced at, was closed for remodeling. Instead of canceling

my appointment, Dan came in on his day off, to do my piercing. Dan arrived a few minutes early, and I briefly discussed the jewelry I wanted. It may be a little more expensive, to start with a circular barbell, but I think they look the best. The jewelry I picked out was fine. Now I just had to wait about 10 minutes for Dan to set things up.

When he was ready, he called me into the back. He took me into what looked like a small examining room, at a doctor's office. He told me to have a seat on the table, and started to tell me what he was going to do. I liked that he explained everything to me, before we got started. Then we were ready to start. He had me drop my pants and

underwear to my knees, and sit back down on the table. Then, as he did each step of the piercing, he told me exactly what he was going to do, while he was doing it.

First he put rubber gloves on and disinfected the area to be pierced, and the area all around the piercing. Then he marked to location for the piercing, and explained he was going to put a Q-tip about 1/2 inch down my urethra, to disinfect the area. The Q-tip didn't hurt. It felt kind of like a picking sensation. More uncomfortable than

anything. Then came the receiving tube. From talking with guys and reading alot of piercing, this was the most uncomfortable part. The receiving tube did look large, but he inserted it gently, and I never even felt it go in. The whole time, he told me to keep breathing deep, and try to stay relaxed. He also kept asking me how I was doing. Now that the receiving tube was in, it was time for the actual piercing. Dan told me to keep breathing deep, and when he was ready, he told me to hold take one more deep breathe and hold it in. There was one quick shot of pain, that lasted about one second, and that was it. He had the barbell in and attached the beads. The pain wasn't bad at all. I was nervous over nothing. The piercing was done. I was bleeding a little bit, and Dan cleaned the blood off the area and barbell with a disinfected Q-tip. The blood stopped, and he bandaged up my piercing for possible bleeding and the drive home. The only thing that did happen was, after my piercing was done, I got light headed for about one or two minutes, from the adrenaline rush. I just laid back, and was fine.

I've heard alot of information on the bleeding. Some people say that you shouldn't bleed much, and some say you will bleed alot. I was told that this is a highly vascular area, and it may very well bleed. I think some people will bleed alot, and others will be lucky, and not bleed much at all. I left the studio, and don't know if it was the bumps in the road or what, but I got a partial erection. I tried to think about other things, to try and keep it down. I was afraid it would cause the piercing to bleed. I got about ten minutes away, when I realized I forgot to get sea salt

from Dan, to help with the healing. I turned around, so I wouldn't have to go around trying to find sea salt. By the time I got back to the studio, my bandages were soaked with blood, and it was coming through to my underwear a little.

I went back in, and went in the bathroom to change my bandages. I waited for the blood to stop, and it was time for my first piss. I dreaded this moment. I figured it would burn, and it did. The good thing was that it only burned to start out. Once I was urinating full force, it stopped burning. I passed some blood in my urine and little clots of blood. When it was done bleeding, I bandaged it back up, got my sea salt, and hit the road. I held my piss in all the way home, because I didn't want to have to stop, and go through the burning, while on the road. With the burning when you urinate, I've heard that some people have the burning and some don't have any burning at all. I've read that some also only had burning the first time they urinated.

When I got home, I had to piss bad. Taking a piss still burned, but less than the first time. It burned like a bitch the first time. It's been getting better each time I take a piss. It burns less and less. After I took a piss, I took a shower. Dan told me to just run warm water on it the first night. I did a little bleeding in the shower, and then bandaged it up, when I was done. I bled a little more at night, while eating something, before bed. I didn't get

much sleep the night before, so I was pretty beat. I changed the bandages one more time, and went to bed. I spotted just a few little drops of blood in the night. This morning I took a shower, cleaned my piercing, and haven't bled since. Hopefully, I'm done with the bleeding, and can leave the bandages off soon.

Now I just have to go through the healing, so I can size up. I think I'm going to go to an 8 gauge, and end up with a 6 gauge circular barbell, if everything goes well. I like the looks of the 6 gauge barbell. I've heard that alot of people find this piercing makes sex more stimulating. I was advised to wait 2 to 3 weeks, before doing anything, if I can wait that long. Dan said it was better to wait till the initial healing of 2 to 3 weeks was done. (I would be

fully healed in about 6 to 8 weeks). I don't know if I can wait that long, because I've had several partial erections already. I've also found that pissing gives me a partial erection sometimes. If it's true about being more stimulated from the piercing, I can't wait to try it out.

If you are thinking about getting this piercing done, go for it. I know I just had mine done yesterday, but as of now, I wish I would have had my PA done years ago. I think the piercing looks cool and would recommend it to anyone. Just make sure you have an experienced piercer do your piercing. He/She should be knowledgeable, and

the studio should be clean. They should also only use the autoclave method of disinfecting their equipment. The procedure isn't anywhere near as bad as I thought it would be. In fact, it's not bad at all. If you do get this piercing done, you may want to wear dark clothing, and baggy pants and underwear. I wore very baggy, black jeans, and loose underwear for comfort on the way home, and to hide any bleeding that might soak through. Also, if you are going to be driving a long distance, you may want to have plastic to sit on, in case you bleed through your clothing. I also brought a change of clothes and some dark towels. If anyone wants to contact me, please do. I'd be happy to answer any questions based on my PA experience and what I've read and heard about this piercing.
