The Geek gets Pierced |
| ||||||||||||||||
I'm not sure where I first got the idea to get something pierced, but it was probably the growing number of pierced noses and bellybuttons around me. I liked them, but I felt that I needed something different, so I decided to get my tongue pierced. I looked on the internet for information and, inevitably, found the wealth of knowledge that is BME. Here I saw many pierced tongues and read the experiences, but unfortunately, my parents wouldn't let me get it done, and as I was only 15 at the time, there wasn't much I could to about it.Time passed, and I didn't really think about piercing too much, until I was nearing my eighteenth birthday, and I decided I needed to mark this momentous occasion. I came back to BME and had a look around. My first impression of the genital piercings was understandable - "why?" I read the experiences, and the more I read, the more I wanted to get one. My mind was made up; I could no longer live my life without a ring through my penis.
I went to the piercing/tattoo place where I was intending on getting my tongue pierced, but was told that they didn't do genital piercings, but they suggested I try another place, and that's how I ended up at Penetralia Body Arts.
I went there and found out that how much a PA would cost ($90 NZ, ~$48 US), this seemed pretty reasonable, so I set about saving. Soon I was back, money in hand and ready to be pierced. My impression of the piercer, Bob, was just that he was a really nice guy. I followed him into the piercing room and sat on the dentist-style chair as he washed his hands, put on gloves and ripped things out of sterile bags. As he was doing this, he told me about the piercing, and we talked about BME, PFIQ etc.
Once he was ready, he told me to take off my pants etc, so I did. He put the backrest of the chair down so that I was lying. He cleaned my penis with Betadine. From this point on I was concentrating on my breathing, and I had my eyes closed I think (not that I could see anything anyway), but I felt him insert the receiving tube, which wasn't uncomfortable at all he said "I'm going to do it now" and I felt a sharp pain. He paused at this point to put a cork on the end of the needle, and then he inserted the jewelry (A 10ga CBR). I looked at my newly adorned penis as it was beginning to bleed. It was wrapped up in a glove, and he gave me some aftercare instructions and some stuff to clean it with.
I paid my $90 and he joked "The most painful bit", which must be a joke heard by too many piercees everyday. I thanked him, and left and got a ride to see my friends who were hanging out at a local ISP. I bled a substantial amount in the hours after it, staining my nice blue jeans. My friends thought I was crazy, and said so. I had to go to the toilet at some point that evening, but it did not sting at all. When I got home, I cleaned it and put some tissues around it and the glove overtop, and then went to bed. I slept well, and in the morning found I hadn't leaked everywhere, but the tissues were pretty bloody.
That morning, I had a shower and cleaned it etc, and urination stung a whole lot at first, but became bearable. I cleaned it with the stuff I was given. It hurt constantly, as you would expect, but it was much less sore than a cut or something, although when I was careless and bumped it it was pretty painful.
Over the next couple of days, it got less sore, which was great. I also was able to do some more "stuff" with it, so long as I was gentle, although I hadn't had sex, because it was still too painful.
It's now Tuesday, four days since I got the piercing. I tried peeing standing up today, which was interesting as there was some considerable spraying, but hopefully I'll figure out how to minimise that effect. In a few weeks, once it's completely healed I might move to a larger gauge ring, just to add a little more weight. I'm also trying to decide what to get done next, probably nipples or labret. At some point I'd also like a couple of tattoos, particularly an Ankh on my chest somewhere.
So, if you're thinking about getting this piercing, I have to say go for it, it won't be something you regret.
