Many people on BME speak of retiring a piercing or more. I had to retire my nipple piercing due to becoming pregnant yet again in April of 2006. I was really upset that I had to take my bar bells out and my husband was upset as well; after all, he was the one that pierced them in the first place on our wedding day as a present to me. So, within an hour, the holes were closed and they were on the road to recovery while I awaited the day my baby would come into the world. I really wished I could have breastfed with them in, but I knew that it would be too awkward for the baby to have in his mouth and I wanted to make sure that my baby had the best opportunity available.

He is big, strong, and healthy. One thing that was interesting is that he only breast fed for 5 days before I said "forget it!" and went to the bottle and formula. It was about two weeks ago that I decided I wanted to get my nipples re-pierced. My husband, however, did not have the time and needed to round up his supplies. So, I waited patiently until he was ready and he promised me that it would be done on March 9, a Friday. I was ecstatic that he said he was going to do it for me again. After all, he had begun to like me not having my nipples pierced.
Well, my husband was busy that day and by the time we had everything found he was too tired to do the piercing and wanted to wait until the next day after I got off work so that he could be awake enough to make sure everything was done properly. I could not argue with that, so, I awaited my piercing. It was all I could think about at work and so I kept myself busy, trying to pass the time. I rushed home for lunch hoping that he could do it before I went back to work. However, he was not home so I had to eat lunch and get back to the old grindstone. Finally, four o'clock came and I was on my way home to my husband and my next nipple piercing experience.
My husband had me wash my nipples and lay down. He then marked where the was going to put the piercing on each nipple. By this point I was very anxious because I wanted to get it done with. He took his time because he wanted to do it right and I was going crazy. Finally, I felt the needle go in. But, there was a problem. The needle did not want to go through the other side! I know that my nipples were difficult the last time but they were not all that bad either. Finally he got the needle the rest of the way through and my whole breast felt numb and warm.
That is when he told me something that really surprised me. My nipple's skin was so hard that the needle actually bent. Of course, I did not believe him and asked him to show me. Sure enough, the point of the needle had bent down which means that it was a blunt side that went through the other side of my nipple. I kind of just shrugged it off and tried not to focus on the numbing sensation. Then, he had a hard time getting on the ball because it was too slick. Well, finally he managed it and we moved on to the next nipple.
This nipple also experienced a problem. It only went about halfway through the nipple and stopped. "Your skin is too tough I think. But, I'm going to try, are you ready?" he asked me. I agreed and he pushed the needle through. This one did not bend , thank goodness, but you could hear the pop when it came out the other side. He got the barbell in place and put together and announced that my piercing was complete. I got up and went to look at my new piercings in the bathroom mirror. They are sexy and I love them dearly.
The second time was a little more painful for me but I definitely think that it was worth it all. I am looking forward to selecting my next piercing because I really do love the feeling I get when I realize that something has been done to my body to make it more beautiful. If anyone is thinking about doing this piercing, I suggest you do it. It will hurt some, but when they heal they feel good and besides, they are really, really sexy. Pain is only what you think it is. If you think it is bad, then it will be. But, if you think it is tolerable and will go away quickly, then you are in for a real treat! Besides, it is pretty exciting knowing you are pierced where people can not see it.
