I had wanted to get my nipples pierced for about a year. There was a piercing shop right across the street from my school and i thought about it every single day and night on my way to school.

Once night, on my way to college, I decided that this was it and pulled into the parking lot of the studio instead of school.

I went into the studio and talked to the guy at the counter. I told him I wanted to get my nipple pierced. He asked if I wanted just one or both, since it was the same price. I asked how much it hurt and he said "Most people who get just one don't come back for the second."

I figured I should do both now since it had taken almost a year just to get into the studio the first time! I paid, picked out barbells and then sat down and waited.

After about 20 minutes they called me back. I have to admit, for those entire 20 minutes, I wanted to bolt out of the chair and leave the studio. I was so scared and nervous! But, I had already paid so, it was get the piercings or lose my money!

However, when I got back to the room, the lady that did my piercing was amazing. SHe just chatted away with me while doing her work, completely taking my mind off of what was going to happen. She measured me over a dozen times to ensure even, proper placement of the piercings. She then marked them with a sharpie and measured them a few more times, just in case. She took out all of the equipment she needed, for both the piercing and after care. It was all properly sealed and sterilized. I actually had made sure that they did this BEFORE I choose this shop but, it was reassuring to hear her say it again! She placed everything on a tray next to the piercing table and kept on chatting away with me, keeping me at ease. I remember asking her if she ever had anyone passed out from getting this piercing and she said "No, not from THIS piercing!"

She had me lay down, covered both breasts with iodine and clamped both nipples. I thought that she would do one then the other but, she called in her partner...they told me they were going to do it TANDEM! (which I am glad for. I don't know if I would have had the nerve to get that second one!)

They had me count to 3 and then, they pushed the needles through. It felt like a painful burning and for a minute, I could not catch my breath. I think it was more from the shock of having it done and over rather than from the pain. Regardless, the pain didn't last that long. Then, once they made sure I was ok, they pushed the bar bells through, I think that hurt more.

Then, they closed the piercings, cleaned me up, described after care and gave me a number to call if I had any problems. They gave me a mirror to check out the new piercings and I felt as giddy as a kid on christmas. I LOVED them! They looked amazing!

I did have a lot of bleeding so they had me stuff my bra with gauze for the trip home. I bled for a few days on and off but, I am a bleeder so, I was not that concerned. I actually went to school afterwards to finish the rest of my class and I had the biggest grin all night knowing where I had just been and what I had just done. It was an amazing adreneline rush!

I did a lot of sea salt soaks during my healing period. For a few days right after, I was sore but advil did the trick! I washed with Provon soap, which I could only find on the internet, but, I think it really helped keeping the piercings clean. I did have a hard time NOT touching them. I was fascinated with the fact that I had actually done it and couldn't help examining them every chance I got. DON'T DO THAT! It took a lot longer to heal...

It has been almost a year and they are finally 100 percent healed.

I have been experimenting with new jewelry, it has been fun to shop for my new body jewelry. I have even taken a pic of the piercings although, I do not know if I will ever get the nerve to post them!

It was a really great experience for me..I loved my piercer, the studio and of course, the piercings. I ready so many horror stories about the pain but to be honest, it was NOT that bad and I am a HUGE baby when it comes to pain. As a matter of fact,I plan on going back next month to get another piercing. Now, the question is, which one do I get?
