I decided that I wanted to pierce my nipples around the age of 16 or 17. On weekends I would spend a few hours looking at pictures, reading information on the procedures and anything else I could find. I would call piercing parlors to check prices, inquire about the type of ring they suggested and any other information that would give. Any and very chance I got I would talk to those who had already had their nipples pierced about their experience. I do believe that it was after I found this site, read the experiences (The good, the bad and the ugly) and saw the pictures I was convinced that I would pierce my nipples.
Fast Forward:
Ok, so I made it to college and I already had a list of the three tattoo/piercing parlors in the area. I spent some time asking the older students which shop consistently did the best work and synonymously Reasons not Rules was suggested. So I found someone who could take me and made a date.
September 22, 2006:
My friend and I ended up going to Reasons not Rules a week earlier than intended. My friend has band practice so we ended up leaving after six pm. Considering that I am done with classes after three pm I had a little time to sit and think. I was ecstatic, to say the least. I dressed for the occasion in a shirt with a bralett for easy access. I learned for a BME experience that it's best to keep it simple. So I ate and make my way to the school of music, the whole time I was waiting for him I was fidgeting. When he got there we talked on the way to the car and on the way to Reasons not Rules. I walked in, I was a little nervous because I had not been there before. I paid and was informed that Tim was on his way back to the shop.
Time is of the essence:
As the time wore on I was getting really excited and I wished Tim would hurry. Also, at the moment, time was of the essence. There was a mandatory concert that my friend and I needed to get to. Tim finally got there and asked me to wait while he set-up. In that amount of time my emotions flew from excited to scared to unsure to excited again. Then I went into the piercing room, Tim closed the blinds (my friend was outside talking to his girl friend at the time) and he measured my nipples. Tim ended up using captive rings because he had no barbells that would fit.
The moment of truth:
Tim sanitized my nipples and clamped them. This might not have hurt if I had not been ready to run out the door breast out. My nerves were getting to me now and I asked Tim to hold off for amount until I collected myself. He obliged and I took a few deep breaths. If I remember correctly my left nipple was pierced first. I'm not going to say it hurt because pain is subjective. I was surprised to say the least. When the right nipple was pierced I wasn't as surprised but I did bleed a little. With quickness Tim slipped the rings in, adjusted them and popped the balls in. He answered all of my questions. All the time I looked down at my nipples, satisfied and very happy.
The speedy ride back to school:
On the way my nipples became sore (to my recollection there was no or very little swelling) and I became quiet aware of all the dips and bumps in the road. My friend thought this was hilarious. We got to the concert just before the doors were about to close. (PHEW!)
2months and 15 days:
I have had my nipples pierced for 2 months and 15 days. I am still very happy with them. And now more than ever do I admire them, particularly when I'm in the shower and when I soak my nipples. They are so attractive that I suspect that this is the best buy that I have made in a long time. I can't wait until they completely heal so that I can play with them. YAY! I have contemplated putting on nipple shields as well as just changing the type of ring in my nipple. I
After thoughts:
I think piercing my nipples had made me a little more aware of the things going on around me particularly when these things were about to collide into me or with my nipples. ^__^
If you think you want to get your nipples pierced please don't go to some rinky dink place, so some place because its there. And if you're not happy say so make a quick exit.
Thanks to Professional Pierces Association, BME, Reasons not Rules, my friend J and Tim.
