I have been wanting my Nipple(s) pierced for a while, but have always been too nervous to go to a shop to get them professionally done. Besides my parents, the only other person that has seen my top half completely naked is my boyfriend. I am very shy in person and not one to show my body off to everyone. That probably makes you wonder why I wanted my Nipple pierced in the first place, well, I have gotten really into modification these past few months and surprisingly the one that struck out to me was the Nipple piercing. I still do not know 100 percent why I wanted it, I guess it was a couple of things; I thought they looked sexy with barbell, they were kind of secretive unless you wanted to show them off by wearing tight clothes (was thinking this might help me come out of my shyness) or keep them secret among a couple, and another reason was I wanted to see what it felt like. I have read tons of experiences on Nipple piercing, watched a few videos of it being done and looked at tons of pictures and wanted to experience it myself.

After talking to my boyfriend and expressing my want for this piercing, but not sure I could go and get it professionally done; he agreed to give it a go at home with me. I wanted to be as professional as I could, so the first thing I did was ordered some new CBR rings and Needles off the internet from a store I trusted. While I was waiting on my delivery, I went to Wal-mart to see if I could get some Emla Cream. I was surprised when they told me that it was only prescription. I know a lot of people say they used it in experiences. I was a little nervous and since this was my first DIY piercing on myself, I asked the pharmacist if there was any over the counter numbing medicine. She asked me what I wanted it for, embarrassed I told her it was for a shot, like for Diabetics. She did not ask any questions thankfully and gave me some Equate Orasol Gel. I was considered about using this since it was oral medication, but she said some ingredient in it made it numb, so I took her word for it.

When we got home, I set up a little station at my desk in front of the computer. I got a clean washrag and laid it out with my tools. I set out the needle (still wrapped), a bottle of Bactine, and the cap of the Bactine with the jewelry soaking in it (jewelry was new, but wanted to be safe), a few Q-tips, some Band-Aids, some KY Gel, a Towel, the numbing gel, and a camera.

I was a little shaky on if the numbing medicine would work, I put it on my arm and pinched it and it did not numb at all. I put it on my tongue and it numbed right away. I decided to put some ice on it for 15 minutes prior, so after I got everything set up and put a pack of gloves near my station, I put the ice on my Nipple for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes my Nipple seemed pretty numb, so I called in my boyfriend and got comfy in my big chair.

I put some oral numbing stuff on my Nipple (I decided on the right one first, in case I chickened out, it was the one I liked more) after I took off the ice. Josh, my boyfriend, got some gloves on after he washed his hands and then removed the jewelry from the Bactine and laid it on the washrag. He then got the needle out of the bag and put it close to my Nipple. He poked my Nipple gently and asked if that hurt and I said no so he started to push. He was pushing really gently and it did not go anywhere. He seemed frustrated and said he could not do this.

I started to talk him through it and said it did not hurt, just to push really hard. He said ok and told me to take a deep breath and he shoved it in really hard. I felt the needle break the skin and slide in a little then stopped. It did not hurt at first, but then it started to hurt. I guess I finally figured out you can numb the entrance and exit but that does not numb the inside. Anyways, he got it in like a tenth of the way and it was stuck. It was a weird sensation, like my Nipple was burning. The pain was consent and never-ending, but it was tolerable. I was calmer that Josh, he was upset that it was so hard and I had to talk him through the rest.

The needle managed to poke through the exit wound. I had to talk Josh through it all, telling her it barely hurt and I was ok and push a little harder. He had to push, stop, push, and stop. I forgot to buy clamps, so he had to pinch my Nipple and push it, then let go and position his hand to pinch it again. I asked him to go fast, but there was no way he could, because he could barely push it. Every time he pushed the needle I closed my eyes and grabbed the chair. It burned a lot when he pushed, but when the needle just hung there it did not hurt. I wanted to beg him to stop for a minutes to let me get my breath, but I just held my tongue and let him do it at his own pace. My Nipple was getting sore by the second, but I toughed it out, hoping it would be over with.

It was a few minutes later, when his friend knocked on the door and he said just a minute that the needle broke the skin on the other side. Josh managed to push the needle almost all the way out, but it stopped moving. The tip of the needle was out and you could see the scoop part, but not the closed part. I was so close to getting it, but Josh pushed for like 5 minutes with no luck. I told him to go talk to his friend and give me a few minutes to rest. While he was gone, I tried to push myself and was amazed at how impossible it was to move the needle.

It was about 10 minutes since Josh first pushed the needle in and it started bleeding and swelling. Nothing I tried, even moving it side to side, would make it go any farther. I knew I could push something on the back of it, but by this time it was very sore and swollen. I could bare it with the needle hanging out but not when the needle was touched. It was frustrating seeing the needle hanging out of my Nipple and it being pierced, but the needle being stuck.

I had the idea of pushing the jewelry on the sharp end and trying to string it through that way. I am pretty sure this would have worked, it was pierced all the way through, and the needle was just stuck. After debating it for a few seconds and seeing my poor bleeding Nipple, I told Josh to just pull it out.

Pulling the needle back out the way it came was an interesting sight. When it went through the other side it had brought some puss, so I cleaned that off before Josh pulled it back through. Anyways, when it was pulled all the way out, it started squirting blood everywhere. It did hurt to pull the needle out, but it was fast and hurt less than trying to stick it in farther.

I got the towel and whipped myself off and took a Q-Tip and cleaned as much as I could. The bleeding was not really stopping, so I put on a big waterproof Band-Aid with some of the numbing stuff on it and left my Nipple alone. The whole process took 15 minutes and although I had a needle all the way through me for a few minutes, I had nothing to show for it but a few bloody pictures.

I did this earlier today; it took almost 3 hours for the pain to go away. I kept feeling like the needle was still inside me and it was being pulled on for like 2 hours straight. The third hour I just felt that pain when it was touched, but now it is not hurting at all. It is really bruised and swollen though and extra sensitive. There are red dots showing where the holes were on either side. I am actually glad now that the piercing did not work out, the dots are not straight at all and the exit one is a little to close to the aurora.

I cleaned it with Dial after it stopped bleeding like an hour later and changed my Band-Aid three times. I am going to treat it like a wound with my Bactine.

This is a good piercing if you get it done professionally; I highly suggest you do not try to do this at home, especially if it is your first time piercing yourself. I still have trouble believing how tough the skin was to pierce. I am sad I did not get my pretty jewelry, but the experience of trying in itself was worth it. I now know what it feels like to pierce yourself and what it feels like to get your Nipple pierced. Right now, I do not plan on getting this redone by a professional nor do I plan to try it again.

Well, I just wanted to show what could go wrong with DIY piercing even if set up properly, were careful. If you have any questions feel free to email me and Happy Piercing!
