Like many of the girls who write about their nipple piercings, my boyfriend was the person who recommended that I get them done. He had a sudden body mod fetish and I was always open to the idea of getting piercings. He wanted to pay for what he refers to as 'the procedure'. He was hoping I'd get the piercings done over my Fall Break, when I came back from college. But lo and behold, I left my driver's permit in my wallet, which was in my desk at school. He was majorly disappointed. I wasn't too bothered by it. In fact I was nervous about the pain involved, even though my boyfriend had abused my nipples far worse than the piercings eventually hurt.

I'd pay for his Prince Albert(had to go up to Chicago and put down $110!)and I'd eventually get my nipples done in Hammond, where it was cheaper($40 for one, $60 for both).
We hit a snag, though. My wallet along with $40 and the permit were stolen a week before I came home. Those lousy people at work, grrr! So we had to chase down my birth certificate to get a new ID.I went to the city Health Department where I almost slaughtered a rude public servant. Apparently I needed a signed ID to get the certificate to get a signed ID. I opted for strong cursing instead of destruction. I called my mom to come get the BC for me, but it turns out that I'd have to go to the county Health Department since I was born in the next town over. We went out there too close to New Year's (the 30th) and the complex was closed. A fews day later, we easily received the governmental proof of my existence. Later the same day my BF accompanied me to the DMV for ID procurement. All that trouble for two little metal rings in my flesh!
Well after the ID hoopla and his daring feat (he's what I call 'the sissy sadist' and the PA was his first piercing EVER!) there wasn't much money between the both of us for mine. I was set to go back to school without metal in my tasty bits. But then he got some cash from of all people, his relatives.
It was my birthday. I assumed that we were driving across town to my apartment, but he said, "Do you want them done now or later today?" I was nervous, but I said now. I stuttered about the injustice of the situation. He had been craving the PA for months, but I was going to be pierced with less than an hour's notice. He tauntingly countered me with the sarcastically upbeat advice I teased him with when we were headed to Chicago. ("Do some breathing exercises!" "We're here because you wanted this!" "It won't be that bad!"
We got there and unfortunately the well-known piercer there, Kate, who had pierced his friend's nipples, had just arrived at the shop. I was pierced by the other woman at the store, and I can't recall her name. I was anxious, but hell, i'm a bit of a masochist. My boyfriend hopped up on the bench to hold my hand, like I did during his PA. The first piercing (left nipple) wasn't bad at all.the clamps didn't hurt and the pain was like a minor sting. I think it was because I was tensed up. My squeamish boyfriend cringed at the few droplets of blood that leaked after the ring was in. I just thought it was awesome. The pain was slightly erotic anyways. I relaxed. Then the right nipple was pierced. That one definitely felt like a stab. The piercer said that she heard the right nipple piercing usually caused more pain. Oddly enough, that nipple didn't bleed at the time.
Later that night, after a small family party, I told my Mom that I pierced my nipples. She was shocked that her smart, proper, sometimes uptight daughter would do something crazy, even though she knew my normal looking boyfriend had a PA! Afterwards, my breasts were tender and swollen. That night I had a jolt of sharp pain. My friend said that was probably the result of my nipples hardening for the first time that day.
The piercings are fine. I had some very minor bleeding occur after cleaning them one day. I have a bit of tenderness as well. I also have small raised bumps on the part of the areola the bead rests near/on. I wonder if this is just from rubbing irritation or from the 'pinching' of the rings.I have some crusting at the moment.
I might switch from using Dial to maybe Safeguard soap, recommended by Kate to another pal of mine, or sea salt rinses. Sea salt helped with my problematic earlobe piercings last summer.
I can't wait to play with nipples adorned with their cute little rings! I have the urge to show them off, just like my boyfriend wants to flaunt his PA. I love 'em! I'd say go ahead and get yours done if you can endure the pain and the aftercare.
