My obsession with body piercing started when I was five and I got my lobes pierced, thanks Mom. My piercing history includes four per ear, two navels, and tongue. There is a certain flood of emotion that follows any mod, be it piercing or tattoo. It's inexplicable and addicting as all hell.

I had never been to this particular studio before, but two of them had, and swore by the staff's knowledge, professionalism, expertise, and kindness. I decided that if I liked the studio and piercer, I would get my nipples pierced that day. I was sold the second we walked in the door, it was surprisingly well lit, and extremely clean (which is something I really appreciate in a piercing studio). Chuck (who I found out was the piercer) was standing behind the counter, waiting to answer any questions we had about jewelry, aftercare, procedures, etc. She's AMAZING.
We were kind of a big group (three of my girlfriends, one of their boyfriends, and me), but Chuck took the time to talk to each of us about our individual concerns, jewelry choices, etc. After we had all picked out our jewelry, Chuck led all five of us back to the piercing room. It was kind of a tight fit, but we made it work. Well, my friends decided that since I was getting a different piercing, I had to go first (I was kind of grateful for it though, since I think the nerves could've killed me). Chuck was great, she made me feel really comfortable, and relaxed, taught me how to breathe, and made me feel really good and ready before anything else happened. She also changed her gloves and washed her hands an uncountable number of times, which was really comforting. She went over aftercare, like how to avoid getting infections, what soap to use (Provon), and how to soak my piercings with sea salt solution (in shot glasses). I was ready.
Then I had to take off my shirt, which was really kind of awkward seeing as Mikey (my friend's boyfriend was there and I hardly knew him), but I'm not that modest, so I stripped down. She had me stand up so she could mark them, and after I checked them out, she had me lay down on the table (which had a sheet like they have at the doctor's office on it). I was pretty excited at this point, but also really nervous. Chuck went slowly, cleaning my nipples, and making them hard. She clamped my nipples, and then had me take a few deep breaths. Then she had me take a really deep breath and blow it out slowly, and POP goes the needle. I swear, it didn't hurt, I didn't even make a sound, but all of my friends made the sound that guys make when they watch another guy get kicked in the nuts. You know the one. So, Chuck asked if I was okay, which I was, then everyone in the room switched places, so Chuck could get on the right side of me to do the other nipple. The right one was the exact same, no pain. I'm not saying I didn't feel it, but it was more of a hard tweak of the nipple sensation. I get dressed, watched my friends get their piercings, and we were on our merry way with our care packages (sea salt, instructions on aftercare, pens, cards, etc.). I had to work that night (I'm a waitress), but they really didn't bother me at all, except one of my co-workers frisbeed a tray at me when I wasn't looking, and of course it hit me RIGHT in the nipple. But other than that, I was really careful, always watching peoples' elbows and stray trays, and didn't have any other mishaps.
For the next few days, my nipples were sensitive, but not painful. Following Chuck's advice, I didn't have anyone play with them for two months, but once I did. Oh LORD! I've always had sensitive nipples, but DAMN. My nipples were twenty times more sensitive than they were pre-piercing.
I was (and still am) so happy with my experience at Lucky Devil that I've since gone back for tattoos and more piercings. I've also had Rick pierce me (he is just as awesome as Chuck). I would recommend Lucky Devil to anyone, anytime, anywhere. They are so awesome, so knowledgeable, and so friendly. I would recommend nipple piercings to anyone. They honestly don't hurt that bad, and they feel great once they're healed. Thanks Chuck for my lovely nipple rings.
