I'm not new to the piercing world. I have several genital piercings (pa, frenum, guiche), plus my ears that I have had for years. For several months, I have been thinking about what to pierce next. In all my internet research on BME and other sites, I kept coming back to nipple rings. I really like the way they look, and I read that they tend to increase sensitivity for both males and females. My nipples are already extremely sensitive, and I have always liked having them played with, but a little more pleasure never hurt anyone. The only problem was every nipple piercing story I read said it was the most painful piercing for guys. I've read a lot of horror stories about all the pain associated with nipple piercing. I admit I dig a bit of pain. My genital piercings hurt, but it was a good hurt. For some reason, the thought of needles going through my nipples made me nervous in a way the others did not. They also would be the first piercings I would have that people could see even if I still had my pants on. That was a new element, but one I was prepared to deal with.

After thinking and thinking about it, I finally decided just to suck it up and do it. Saturday afternoon I ran a few errands, and while I was out I called my favorite piercing studio in Dallas (Ritual Body) to see if my favorite piercer (Dana) was there. She was, and I told her I would be there in fifteen minutes to get my nipples done. She said cool. It wasn't too busy and she would be there all afternoon.

I arrived at the studio and filled out the usual paper work, paid, and heard the usual aftercare routine. I have to admit I was extremely nervous, more so than with any other piercings I have. I could feel my palms getting a little sweaty. The good thing was Dana had a few things to take care of, so I had some time to sit and relax a bit. I read a few magazines and drank some water. This calmed me down somewhat. Eventually I went back to the back, got up on the table and took off my shirt. It was kind of nice to be able to keep my pants on for once. There's a new apprentice at Ritual, and Dana asked if she could mark me. I said fine, as long as she checked to be sure they were straight. The apprentice was nice and took her time. She was also very cute. I was glad it was just my nipples I was getting pierced this time. The marking was done and a few adjustments were made. I sat back in the chair for Dana to do the actual piercing.

I've read that the clamps are the most painful part of nipple piercing. When Dana put them on, they didn't actually bother me a bit. The were a little cold, but not painful in any way. After they were in position, Dana told me to take a deep breath, and pushed the needle through my first nipple. It hurt, of course it hurt, but not nearly like I thought it would. On a 1-10 scale, I'd say maybe a 4 or 5. I don't think I even made a sound. I did hear the slight pop the needle made as it came out the other side. Dana put the ring in and moved on to the other nipple. Same process as before, but this one did hurt a bit more (maybe a 7), still not as much as I thought it would. This time I did let out a bit of a loud grunt, I believe. I may have even said "fuck." I bled a little (just a few drops), so I got some small bandages put on each nipple, got dressed and headed home with a big smile on my face. I had finally done it. I actually enjoyed it, and my nipples looked awesome. I always enjoy the whole piercing process. It really helps clear my mind of any problems or distractions. Each time I leave feeling somehow cleansed. It's hard to explain, unless you have been through it.

It's only been a day, but no problems so far. The bleeding stopped before I got home. They are a little sore, but they look great. If you are thinking about getting your nipples done, but are afraid it will be the most painful experience of your life, go for it. It's not so bad. And if you are in Dallas, go see Dana at Ritual Body. She does amazing work.

It's now been about four months since I got my nipples pierced. They seem to be mostly healed, and I have had very few problems. About two months after I got them done, my left nipple seemed to be getting a little irritated. It got puffy and red, and oozed a bit. I went back to twice a day soakings with salt water and it cleared up in about a week. Since then, nothing but smooth sailing. In the next week I'm planning to gauge them up to a 12 gauge cbr. I don't really want to stretch my nipples to much, but I think I would like to get them up to a 10 gauge eventually. That seems like a pretty good size for my nipples.
