My story began in late 1991, when I first met someone who had a nipple piercing. My girlfriend and I had just moved to CA and had become acquainted with a truly crazy bunch of beautiful people at work. While hot-tubbing at our complex I saw my first pierced nipple. I was transfixed, not freaked out at all. I thought it was the sexiest thing I'd ever seen. The pierced girl did my gf's nipple, which later became infected and very painful (we also had a 3some with her , but that's another story) My GF eventually had it redone professionally. I was psyched and wanted to have my own done. Unfortunately, she got bored with it and just left it out. I lost interest in getting pierced for several years.

Flash forward to 2000. Now married and headed for a separation, I had recently become interested in getting pierced myself. I worked with a cute girl who had the most incredibly sensuous mouth, all lips and tongue, which had a huge barbell through it. It reignited my interest in getting pierced. When my wife and I definitely knew the marriage was over, I treated myself to a left nipple piercing, in Sacramento. It was a great experience and well worth the wait. I was high on the endorphins for hours, and just drove around with my shirt unbuttoned to feel the breeze on my new piercing. My wife was a little shocked that I had it done, and to this day doesn't like it. But I loved it. My right nipple was pierced at the same studio (tho not the same piercer) 6 months later. It was a typical 2nd piercing experience; more painful and nausea-inducing. But that was very temporary. I had 14 ga cbrs and felt terrific.

In 2001, I took the piercings out for what I thought would be a temporary period. Try as I might, I could not get the rings back in and the holes healed up quickly. I was very bummed, but knew eventually I'd have them both redone.

In mid 2003, I spontaneously went to the local parlour (this time in Roseburg, OR) on my lunch hour and had the left nip done again, this time with a barbell. My goal was to have nipple shields, which I thought were the coolest. It was a great piercing, and my new gf loved it.

After relocating to New Mexico last year, my gf bought me a right nip piercing for Valentine's Day (she got a psychic reading). It was a small studio in Albuquerque and cheaper than the other studios in town, which was a HUGE mistake. The guy was cool and all, but he really did a bad job. I soon discovered the piercing was off-center and at the wrong angle. To make matters worse, it started to migrate after a few months. I finally decided to bite the money bullet and went to the best studio in town. The piercer was great. It was by far the best and least painful of all the piercings. I was in and out in about 10 minutes. (A funny side story: I met a woman here at work shortly after moving. I moved on to different jobs and a few months ago I walked into work and she was there as a new co-worker. We were catching up and got on the subject of piercing. She told me she got her nipples pierced amoung other things, and her husband was a tattoo artist and also multi-pierced. I told her about my recent piercing fiasco, and where I got the good piercing. Turns out her brother-in-law is the guy who pierced me (her also). In a city of a few hundred thousand, it was a very nice to share such a small-town moment)

So now I have 2 great piercings, and, thanks to E-bay, tons of new jewelery. If you're shopping for jewelery of any kind, go to E-Bay!!! I now have 2 sets of shields and 8 sets of rings, and I paid about 30 bucks for it all. I also have a set of rounders and lots of barbells. My next goal is to have another hole in each nipple. I love my piercings, and if you're thinking of getting your nips done but are afraid of the pain, relax. It's really a breeze. One second of pain (and not really that bad, either) and 50 bucks

is definitely worth it. A word on my aftercare: I clean with sterile saline solution, in a spray can. Works great

In a very funny twist of fate, my ex-wife and I are now neighbors and best friends. She is a tattoo fiend and has the most beautiful piece covering her upper back. My gf moved back to Oregon about six months ago. Things don't always work out as planned, but life goes on.
