I had been toying with the idea of piercing my nipples for a long time before I actually decided to do them, and it actually took my friend Kelly piercing her's for the second time to get me into the chair myself. It wasn't a fear of the pain or anything that kept me from getting them done, it was more the possibility of migration and rejection and a long slow healing process that I debated whether it would be worth the final outcome. Also, I had many people telling me all of these urban legends about women losing all feeling in their nipples and becoming completely numb, and despite my better judgement, these comments kind of hung in the back of my head. But hell, it was just a couple more piercings and after I watched Kelly do her's I knew that I had to do them too.

I made an appointment at the piercing shop on my college campus. Now first off, getting pierced by someone that I don't know and don't really trust made me a little nervous especially considering the location of the piercings, but Travis was very professional and he had already pierced my conch a few months before so I trusted him fairly well. I showed up at my appointment time, filled out all the paperwork and picked out my jewelry, a 14 ga., 3/8" CBR. He was finishing up piercing someone's cartilage and asked me to wait just a few minutes. A couple of young girls in the shop asked me if I was nervous about getting my nipples pierced and I kind of scoffed at them and shook my head. I really wasn't nervous, I was more anxious and excited. Many of my friends who had their nipples pierced had told me that the first one would not hurt at all but the second one absolutely KILLS, but overall the healing process would not be bad at all and should actually heal rather quickly if you take proper care of them.

Soon enough, Travis pulled me into the piercing room and told me to sit on the chair. He reclined it back and I removed my tanktop. There was a hug floor to ceiling mirror in front of the chair and I inspected my boobs as I waited for him to get set up. I decided that I would get the piercings done horizontally so that I could wear hoops or slave barbells if I wanted to. Travis came over and used a little sterilization cloth to clean my nipples. He did this twice and then, using a surgical marker, drew two little purple dots on either side of my nipple to indicate where the piercing would be placed. He then asked me which one I would like to start on and I said I didn't care. After showing me the sterilization pouch that the needle was in he clamped my left nipple. No matter what anyone says, the clamp is by far the worst part of any piercing, Especially one's nipples. On the count of three he pushed the needle through and removed the clamp. I let out a breath of air and looked down at the needle going through my nipple. It was kinda funny and I let out a little chuckle. The pain was minimal and fleeting. After he put in the hoop he moved to the right nipple and repeated the procedure. No let me tell you, my friends we all right! After the first nipple, I had thought "That was nothing! I could do this all day!" but the second nipple definitely hurt way more. I think that was probably because all the endorphins had been released after the first piercing and there was nothing left for the second, but anyway what do I know... Travis put the second hoop in and handed me a mirror to inspect his handiwork. I couldn't help but smile as I looked at my newly adorned nipples. I let out a little squeal of delight and told him that I was very happy with his work.

The next few days were filled with the typical healing process. I washed them carefully with antibacterial soap and water once a day in the shower, making sure to rotate them either direction a few times to fully clean them. After a few days when they started to get crusty, I found that cupping water in my hands under the nipple in the shower for a few minutes softened up any stuff that might be on the sides of the jewelry and make it difficult to clean. After about a week, the soreness had all but disappeared and I could stretch and pull on them slightly. I was actually impressed with how quickly they healed considering my conch piercing took almost 2 months to stop being sore. Anyways, I love my beautiful little rings and I would definitely recommend this piercing to anyone. Oh yeah, and I absolutely did not lose ANY feeling in my nipples!
