Well getting my nipples pierced was something that I would not have imagined getting done until about a week before I had them done. I had always thought it a little too "out there" for myself. I already had my eyebrow, ears, and labre (although taken out now, it heals very fast, like overnight) and was happy with those. Although I ended up seeing a nipple piercing on another guy and it didn't look as bad/bizarre as I thought it would... and slowly the thought came too that I should do it myself. I don't have any tattoos yet and since I only have my ears and eyebrow piercings visible I'm fairly tame as far as what a lot of other people have with more serious piercings, my ears are only stretched out to a 12 gauge. I don't really consider myself someone who would get a lot of the hardcore piercings so getting my nipples done was a big deal for me since I had seen them as something that only people big into the piercing scene would do. Although of course realizing that only people would notice when I had my shirt off helped me to be more comfortable with the idea of it as far as the piercing not interfering with jobs. Up until that point only once has any piercing been an issue for a job, it was the eyebrow and it was when I was doing a catering job. Although the lady whom we were working for didn't even seem to notice it so it was a none issue.
At A Glance Author Untested Contact Untested@bme.anon When Three months ago Artist Pat Studio FU Tattoo Location Live Oak, California Fast forward to a week later, after asking a friend of mine if she knew any places she ended up recommending FU Tattoo in Live Oak, near Santa Cruz/Capitola area in California. Relatively knew so I hadn't heard much of it, although I heard the piercer was from another near parlor and went to open up his own place, and that he had been very good, figured it was worth a shot. Previously I had my piercings done at Graffix Pleasure in Santa Cruz although wanted to try somewhere new. Some of the other parlors were just a little too cliquey for me.
When I arrived at FU and met Pat the Piercer things went well. He was a really nice guy and very informative. Its always nice to meet the piercer and have them be a good person but also able to talk serious business about the process, healing, and what's safe and what's not. Sat down in the chair and got started on the process. They have to massage your nipples to get them relaxed for the piercing so just be aware. Pat told me that some guys get really creeped out by that, although I imagine if your reading this you'll be able to understand. Then marked the location for entry and exit, then lined up the needle. At this point when he was holding the needle there it sorta hurt with it just sorta pressing the skin, only gripe. Although then once the needle went through there was that wonderful rush, it did hurt more though than any other piercing I had at the time, but it felt really good afterwards. My legs shot straight out and I gasped for air. It had hurt more than I thought it would but wasn't that bad, just unexpected. The second nipple was just more of the same, although a little tougher since at that time I was slightly dreading it. Pat told me that for the second nipple sometimes people decide to skip it because the first one hurt too much, so before you go be sure to set your mind to both, just one, or two separate visits. After the entire process I had the biggest endorphin rush yet and I felt wonderful. I felt very relaxed and calm. It was a blast.
For the next few days the nips were very sore. Seat belts were my enemy, had to very careful not to get them caught on the ring otherwise pain would ensue. Shirts and various other tight fitting clothing was off limits. I also recommend sleeping on your back without any sheets on the chest. Then be sure to rotate them in the shower, even if you really don't want to, to get any crust off of them. I didn't get any infections or any bad side effects and I LOVE them now. The sensitivity for the entire pectoral region has gone up and its just fabulous now. I highly recommend both this piercing and piercer. Pat was very professional but also just an awesome guy overall. Also the piercings have not had an effect with any jobs or anything, people only really get to know about them when I tell them, which works out very well for me.
