Previously, I never liked nipple piercings. They just didn't appeal to me, that was until I was watching a music DVD when this chick, who looked liked me, flashed the TV screen. Right in front of me were two perfectly pierced nipples, and man did they look hot! I had to have some too!

I jumped off the couch, turned on the computer and started having a look at the pics on BME and reading up whether it affected breastfeeding and all that jazz. Reassured that my nipples will still be in working order, (if not more sensitive!) I rang my friend and told him to come with me the following day to have my nipples pierced. He already knew of my objection to nipple piercings so was slightly taken back at my suggestion, but was otherwise rather keen. I finally fell asleep that night clutching my nipples!

The next day I had completely forgotten about my plans to have my nipples done, it was not until my friend phoned me to double check the time we were meeting when I remembered. All of a sudden I was scared!! I was going to pay money to have a needle stuck through my nipple! God what was I doing! But I got up, swallowed my fear, showered and did all the necessities, then left to go into town.

I've had all my other piercings done by the same piercer (tragus, conch, belly button, and help when stretching my lobes) so I headed straight back to good ol' Justin. The walk up the stairs to the studio was the hardest bit. I could feel my heart thudding all through my body and my legs just didn't want to continue up the stairs. With my friend dragging me through the door I looked at Justin and said 'right nipple please.' He just laughed, took me into the room and told me to sit down whilst he got all the instruments he needed. I was asked whether I wanted a ring or a bar, and I chose a 14ga surgical steel bar with two cute silver balls on the end.

Justin looked at me and asked 'I can't pierce through your shirt you know, so you may as well take it off now'. Using a pen, he marked two little black dots horizontally on both sides of my nipple and stepped back to check they were in line, then told me to lie down. God that chair was cold with my shirt off!

Using a clamp, Justin pinched my nipple and put the needle straight through the black dots, then pulled the cannula through. I looked down to see a plastic tube sticking out of my nipple and said to Justin 'Oh my god there's a straw through my nipple!' The piercing was throbbing a little, but nothing unbearable. It didn't hurt any more than any other piercing I had done, but Justin said the hard bit was to come. Gritting my teeth, he inserted the bar into the cannula, pushing it through my nipple and then tightened the balls on. Pushing the jewellery through was definitely the most painful, yet even then it didn't hurt for that long at all. I lay there for a minute or so while Justin cleaned up, and then feeling light and happy, I sat up, put my shirt on, paid my dosh and then left. After the rush of the piercing I felt like I was floating, and slowly descended the stairs with a much different feeling then when I had walked up them!

My nipple felt a little tender and rubbed a little from my bra, but all in all didn't really hurt. I didn't even notice it after half an hour, that was, until I walked into the supermarket! Going into the freezer section with a freshly pierced nipple is not the best of ideas! It was the strangest sensation, sort of a tingling, ticklish feeling, and all I could do was laugh! I received the strangest looks as I ran out of the shop clutching my right breast!

I treated my new piercing like any other, using iodine solution and lavender oil on it after showers, making sure I rotated the bar to get the liquid through the wound. I think that because of the location of the piercing, it stops you from playing with it too often, which keeps dirty little finger away from it. I mean, it's not the best of ideas to stick your hand into your shirt and start playing with your nipple in front of everyone, although the temptation is always there!

I recommend this piercing to anyone, for me it was very easy to look after and hardly hurt, in fact I changed the jewellery after about one week. Just make sure you look after it initially and it will be all smooth sailing!
