I have wanted to get my nipples pierced for a number of years. But always I have thought my limited student budget couldn't afford it. I even went with my girlfriend at the time to get hers pierced, and thought, maybe later. After I recently ended a serious relationship, I decided 'what the hell!' I felt like giving myself a gift, and what better than a piercing or two. I have been a member of BME for quite some time, and have looked enviously at the pictures of both men and women with their pierced nipples. I wasn't prepared to wait any longer.
At A Glance Author anonymous Contact anonymous@bme.anon IAM varteks76 When A week ago Artist Nicole Studio The Piercing Urge Location Sydney I made a booking with The Piercing Urge in Darlinghurst in Sydney. They are a great shop, and a number of people I know have had piercings done there without any problems at all. I rocked up on a rainy Saturday lunchtime early - I was hoping for sunshine since I was getting more nervous by the minute. I filled in the time in various other shops along Crown and Oxford Streets in Darlinghurst, anxious and wanting the get the thing over and done with. At 12pm (my booking time) I went in, filled in all the necessary paperwork, and selected my jewellery. And then it was time ...
I went into the booth, I took my shirt off, she cleaned both my nipples with Betadine, and then I stood up and she marked the points on my nipples. It took several attempts for my left nipple. I had a look in the mirror just to confirm that I was happy with the suggested placement. They looked fine to me, and had one last look at my unpierced nipples. I then lay back down and she applied the clamp to my left nipple. A pleasant sensation actually. She then told me to breath in, and when I breathed out I felt a intense sensation in my nipple, which lasted about a second. She then got me to repeat my breathing and inserted the ring. I was surprised that there was no blood at all. I somehow imagined that there would be blood everywhere. Not a drop in my case.
This was then repeated on my right nipple, and the sensation was similiar. In total, the pain, which was significant, lasted 2 seconds. Maybe it's significant to me as i've not had any piercings before. I've got a tattoo, and it was less painful than my nipple piercings.
I then paid and they gave me detailed care instructions. I got this little bottle of cleaning liquid soap to use once daily for 14 days. I've been using the stuff, and found it excellent. It's almost like a gel that's how thick it is.
It's been 5 days since the piercing, and i've had very little trouble with them. They ached a little for a few hours afterwards, but then I've had no pain from them. I clean them each morning during my shower and if there is any crusty bits, they easily wash off, and after cleaning the piercings, I get very little other residues during the entire day.
I'm glad I had them done. As I mentioned earlier, it's something i've wanted to do for a long time. I feel great, and they look great. I got rings of some sort - I never bothered to ask what size. Maybe when i'm in that area again, i'll stop in and ask. Most likely I'll be there again when I get something else pierced.
People have told me that once you get once piercing, you don't stop. I've found the same thing with tattoos, and now am experiencing the same desire with piercings. I haven't decided what to get done next, but it has to be discrete as my workplace is quite conservative and they wouldn't look too fondly on facial piercings or other visible piercings.
For anyone who is considering getting their nipples pierced, i'd suggest you don't wait as long as I did before getting them done. I love mine, and for any guy considering getting them done, they do increase the sensation in that area. It's enjoyable now when my shirt brushes past them. When I wear a tight shirt, they are visible through, and it's interesting to see peoples reactions when they notice. They stare at my chest, but act as if they've seen nothing. It's amusing to say the least! A white business shirt does the same thing - they are slightly visible through the shirt. That'll give the people at work something to think about ...
I'm single at the moment, so I've got noone to share them with :-( But i'm sure it won't be long before I get to test them out ... At least i'll be able to keep hands off them for the required two weeks to aid in the healing process.
