First, I would like to thank all the people at BME for putting up such an informative web site. I'd also like to thank the many women that provided personal accounts of their own piercing experience. The submissions truly helped me to prepare for my own as to what to expect and how the whole procedure would go down.

So, here I am, 31 years old. It seems that I always get pierced at times in my life that I considered milestones. I got my first body piercing when I was 28. I was approaching 30 fast and wanted to do something rebellious, so I went down to my very dear friend, Doug Frye's tattoo studio, Skin Expressions, and had my naval done. Three months after I was married, at 29, another rebellious act, I had my tongue pierced. Now, at 31, I wanted to have yet another body piercing and knew that I wanted to do both of my nipples.

As always, I research until I'm overloaded with information. Then, I go and ask questions. For two weeks prior to my piercing, I talked to Doug about things that concerned me and he put my mind at ease. All I needed to do was pick a day that I wanted to do it. I waited two additional weeks before getting it done because of other engagements that I felt would interfere with the healing process.

The time had come, so two days ago I went to Doug's shop. When I walked in he told me that he wanted to eat first, which was just fine with me since I was a little nervous. I told him I was in no rush and he laughed. As with other experiences I've had with him I asked, "Is it really going to hurt Doug?" and his response was, "It won't hurt me bit!" which is always our way of breaking the proverbial ice. So, I smoked a cigarette and had a soda while I waited for him to finish lunch. Once he was finished he autoclaved the needles and sterilized the jewelry. He reviewed everything with me once again to put me at ease.

I undressed and sat down in a reclining chair so he could apply the Lidocain on my nipples, which he explained wouldn't completely mask the feeling of the piercing, but would help deter the pressure of the clamps. After the application of the topical, he measured my nipples. Originally, I wanted the smallest CRB ring, but my nipples and areola are larger then average and we had to go up one size.

With everything prepared, the last thing to do was the actual piercing. Doug asked me which side was my most dominant. Considering I'm right handed, I assumed that the right side would be most dominant. Doug told me that he would do my left nipple first since the dominant side of the body usually hurts a bit more. I was fine with that. I figured I would feel some kind of pain anyway, so it really didn't matter. He put the clamp on and told me to lean back and not watch him or kick him for that matter. He explained that I would feel a pinch, but that wasn't the case. He was very quick, but holy cow, the shooting spears of pain! I wasn't expecting that. I think I tensed up and forgot to breath, which may have contributed to the pain. He removed the clamp and put the jewelry in my nipple. I was shaking and trying to allow my endorphins to kick in, but no luck. I asked him to give me a few minutes before doing my right nipple and he obliged.

We talked for several minutes and then I told him I was ready. I thought if I waited too long I wouldn't go through with it. Going through the same motions, he put the clamp on, reiterated the procedure, told me to lean back and not look. I relaxed as much as possible and waited for the pain that would surely come. There was none. I couldn't believe it. I felt the slightest pressure and a very quick pinch. Nothing unbearable. After he put the jewelry in and cleaned my nipples I got dressed. We discussed aftercare and what to do in the event of infection or rejection of the jewelry.

After I paid him ($80 plus a $10 tip) I asked him why the piercing hurt more in my left nipple then my right. He said he really didn't know. I thought it may be because, although I write and bowl with my right hand, everything else I do with my left, like shooting pool, firing guns, batting and golfing.

Either way, I was very happy and proud of myself for going through with my piercing.

My breasts were a little swollen the first night, but have returned to normal with the exception the beautiful jewelry in my nipples.

Aftercare has been pretty simple. I wash twice a day with a non-scented anti-bacterial soap. Once in the morning while I'm in the shower and once at night before bed. I do a sea-salt soak once a day between cleanings and apply Udder Cream to the rings and work them back and forth several times. I've been sleeping in my bra and also put sterile nursing pads inside the cups to keep my bra clean and combat moisture buildup. I haven't experienced any crusty stuff on the rings yet and don't expect to since I am very anal about aftercare.

I love looking at my nipples more now then ever and am looking forward to incorporating them in to my sex life with my husband. Now, between us, we have three pierced nipples in the house, soon to be four.

I would recommend this piercing to anyone who has been thinking about getting it done. If you have questions, ask them. If you're not sure if the piercing is right for you, research first.

Good luck to everyone and happy piercing!
