Ah, my nipple piercings...a lovely story indeed.

As I turned 18 fairly recently, I had been waiting for at least two years to get my mods done. My mother, being the cool lady she is, signed for me to get my eyebrow pierced. Although I was very pleased with my eyebrow piercing, and the way it was done, I longed for more.

At this point, one of my good friends had started at school in Cheyenne, Wyoming, and, being into mods herself, had found a great piercer just an hour away in the lovely little college town of Fort Collins, Colorado. Chuck (actually, Charles Maple III) and I started talking through AIM and I got to know him well enough to know he's an awesome guy who knows what the hell he's doing. However, as I live in Lincoln, Nebraska, getting to Fort Collins was going to be somewhat of an undertaking.

My chance to get out of this God forsaken state came two weeks after my 18th birthday. Two of my friends decided to accompany me out to Cheyenne to visit my friend. We left on a Friday, travelled the eight hour (or six hour if you go 95 mph, like we did) and showed up in Cheyenne. My main goal for going was to get pierced on Saturday.

The next day, after a long night of dancing and various other festive activities, we woke up and went to Fort Collins and doddled around briefly before showing up at Millenium at around 7 pm. The shop was almost totally empty. We chatted with Chuck for a bit as he cleaned up his studio. I could feel the butterflies in my stomach as we talked and I decided that I really wasn't ready to get them done at that moment. Chuck chimed in saying that in less than an hour, the shop would be filled with patrons and I would then be on a waiting list. I contemplated what he'd said for a moment and gave the go ahead.

I moved into his studio and sat on the chair. That same night I was also getting my inverse vertical labret done and he told me he'd like to do that first. He went over the care instructions and the procedure with me and quickly the piercing was in (I later took it out due to work related reasons). Then it was time for my nipples. Chuck instructed me to take off my shirt and shit on the chair. I was more than a little uncomfortable as four other girls (all of whom I knew, but that's not the point) were sitting in the room with me. Chuck asked me to stand up straight and put my hands at my sides. I did so and he made the piercing marks. They seemed deep to me, but I brushed it off as compensation for migration. He told me that he'd be using 14 g, 5/8" rings, which is exactly the gage that I wanted, but a little bit larger diameter than I'd prefer. I didn't argue, he knows what he's doing.

I layed down on the chair (which extends into a flat bed/table) and started breathing. Chuck told me how the piercing procedure would go. I'd seen Chuck pierce before (my friend had gotten her cleavage piercing earlier in the year that I was witness to) so I expected there to be two inhales and on the the second exhale he would insert the needle. Well, that's not the way it worked this time because on the first exhale I felt a sharp pain shooting through my chest. I was a bit shaken, but the intense pain I had felt was brief and after a few seconds I was recovered and ready for my second nipple to be done. The same procedure was followed, and this time I was prepared for the needle to go through.

After the jewelry was in, Chuck instructed me to sit up and breath. He was very cautious with me and made sure I was ok to stand up and walk around without passing out. I was feeling pretty well, and wasn't light headed at all so I stood up to check out my brand-new piercings. As I looked in the mirror, I almost got giddy. I was very pleased with my new piercings and couldn't wait until they healed. Chuck told me that I'd be living in a bra only (despite what I'd thought before) because I wouldn't want anything rubbing up against them. He was right, I didn't take a bra off except to shower for at least four days afterwards. The post-procedure pain was minimal, save the accidental brush or bump that made me feel like I had been punched in the chest. It's been almost six months since I've got them pierced and I'm still loving them. The increased sensitivity is great for...um...intimate moments and they're overall just a good bit of fun.
