I've always secretly wanted to get my nipple pierced for a few years now. I just never told anyone about it, an inside head thought I guess you could say. I already got my tragus pierced about a year ago and wanted something else, so I thought why not get my nipple done.I just needed the extra push. Then a friend of mine told me she got hers done, so I toke that as a sign that it was my turn to go too.

My good friend decided that she'd come with me and she would get hers done too. So it was decided. After class one day we headed down to Utility in Halifax to get them done. We were very nervous as we didn't really know what to expect, everything hurts but we were not sure how this was going to go.I already had my tragus pierced and I didn't find that too bad, although I had a feeling that this was going to be a little more painful. My friend had her belly button done too.

We couldn't remember what time it opened at, so we were there nice and early at 11 am. Of course it only opened at 12, so we had some time to kill and went to get some lunch. Around 12:30 we went back to the shop and they said it would be about an hour. So to kill more time we went and did some shopping (typical girl thing to do of course) We walked back into the studio and it was finally our turn.

We filled out the firms and paid and such. We both picked out a hoop seeing as how we liked the look of it. There were so many colors of beads to chose from. I finally settled on a green bead and my friend chose a blue bead. I wanted to go first because I wanted to get it over with. We already decided this ahead of time.

Then we went back into the room, my friend sat on the floor. So I hopped up on the chair, and JD (who was our piercer) began to tell us about the procedure and what not. Everything was very professional. He told me to take off my shirt so he could put the dot on the nipple. Even though we just met him, I was very comfortable around him so it didn't matter. I stood up and he put some stuff on it and then marked my nipple to where it was going to be pierced. After that I lied down and it began. He clamped my nipple which hurt a little but nothing to really complain about, and he told me to take a deep breath, and then pop he did it! The pain wasn't too bad, but for some reason it made a big crunch noise which caught me off guard! Other then that it wasn't too bad, just a different type of pain. I was expecting so much more. Then he put the bead on and voilą, I was done! I looked in the mirror and loved it! It turned out really nice. It was bleeding a little bit though, but it stopped later on in the night. Then my friend and I switched positions it was her turn to get it done. Once she was done he told us to use neutrogena soap to clean it with twice a day,and all the instructions that went along.

We couldn't believe that we actually got it done. All I can remember from the ride home in the car was there there was a lot of bumps in the road... got to love that.I had to work that night and I was paranoid that I would bang into something, but I didn't. When I woke up the next morning it was crusty (which wasn't pretty) so I used a q-tip to take that off and cleaned it in the shower with the soap. The 'crusties' lasted for about a week or so.It burned a couple of times, but I remember that this was suppose to be a 'normal' thing.

It has been more then a month now since I've got it pierced and I'm loving the nipple. I still clean it every now and then just in case. (I tend to worry about things)It gives a nice sensation...The pain wasn't all that unbearable and I would advise you if you wanted it done, go do it! I am going to get the other one done in a few weeks. It's very true that once you get one done, you have to get the other pierced too. I think you need the balance. If you're considering to get it done, go to Utility in Halifax, it's a good place.
