At A Glance Author Ender Contact Ender@bme.anon When Three months ago Artist Tom Brazda Studio Stainless Studios Location Toronto Ontario Canada I?m about the last person in the world anyone would expect to be pierced. White, upper-middle class, preppy, but now with a pierced left nipple. Why my nipple? Well there are a couple of reasons for that, one being its easy to hide, two my girlfriend really likes it and three I wanted it.
I was scared to get it done though so I kept putting it off and putting it off until my girlfriend showed me bmezine.com and I started looking around. I noticed that Tom Brazda at Stainless Studios right here in Toronto was getting really good reviews. I did some more research and decided that I had to just do it. I mean whats the point in not doing something like that if I didn't like it I could always take it out. I made an appointment to get it down and then the waiting began.
I started to get nervous the day of, I went to my classes and then had a break. I went down to queen street and scoped out the place, it was above the Nasa bar but I couldn't go in yet, I didn't want to be early. My stomach was performing a gymnastic routine but I knew I wanted to go through with it. So after flipping through some cds I went back and walked up the stairs.
I was greeted by the receptionist and she was really nice. I got the standard paperwork and an aftercare sheet and we talked about her piercing experiences and then I waited. After filling out the form I gave it back to the girl and paid for it. 50 bucks didn't seem too bad and I wanted it done but someone who knew what they were doing. Tom came out and led me back into a private room. I sat down on a dentist chair and he proceeded to go into an in depth explanation of aftercare.
Tom discussed how to clean why to clean and the reasoning behind aftercare. We talked about soaps, shampoos, cleaning and what to do if it did get infected. His explanation of after-care was really useful and gave me a reason to not touch my piercing cause infection would be bad.
After explaining all the aftercare he told me to take off my shirt and he marked my nipple being careful to make sure it was straight. He then cleaned it changing gloves 3 times along the way. He got a CBR and a 14g needle and a pair of forceps. Once he clamped my nipple he pierced it and I was amazed besides a small pin prick it barely even hurt. He then threaded the CBR through which was a really weird feeling. Once it was finished he cleaned it up and gave me a final note about aftercare before shaking my hand and sending me home.
I left with a dull ache in my nipple but it didn't really hurt it just felt, well, good. I got onto the streetcar and went home. I was so excited and impressed that I had done it. When I got home the adrenaline had worn off but so had the pain. It was tender but I mean I had just had a piece of steel shoved through it. I had to careful when putting on and taking off shirts but generally it was ok.
When I went to sleep that night I discovered that if the ring flipped up it was really painful so I was careful to lie down in such a way as to avoid it flipping up. Sleeping was really easy and by the time I went to sleep it was painless and I was glowing with happiness from having it done.
The next day I went to the gym and worked out and I didn't even notice it. It was almost entirely painless except when I had to take off my shirt and it would get caught or I would lie down wrong and it would flip up.
For cleaning I just tried to keep shampoo away from it and I used SpectroJel all over my body. It healed up almost completely in six weeks. And was almost entirely painless after 3 weeks.
My girlfriend loved it and so do I, its three months later now and I?m seriously considering getting my other nipple done and maybe an orbital soon. I would definitely recommend Stainless Studios I've only heard good stories about it. And I can attest that Tom is very professional and clean and comfortable with almost every piercing you can think of. I've heard great stories about him and my personal experience was really really good. I really like my nipple piercing because its private enough that no one just knows its there but if you want to show it off you can. If you have any questions feel free to e-mail, good luck and happy piercing.
