I got my first nipple piercing, my left nipple done, back in November. Unfortunately I never got round to writing about it, and this is the story of my second nipple piercing, although pretty much everything I have to say about this one is true of the first piercing also.

It was done on the spur of the moment. I was in Camden Town, where there is a strip of piercing studios and many pierced and tattooed people on the streets, and it is very tempting to get pierced every time you go down there. I got the first piercing at Coldsteel, because it has a brilliant reputation, is a member of the APP (Association of Professional Piercers), and has very high standards of hygiene. I only got one nipple pierced back then as I was worried about the pain, which I had heard from many accounts to be awful in the case of nipple piercings. In the event it was not half as bad as I had anticipated, and so from that moment on I decided that I wanted to get the other one done eventually.
A couple of months on I decided that it was time to take the plunge and go for it. My left nipple was healing very nicely, and I had really started to dislike the fact that it looked lonely on its own, adorned with a beautiful ring while the right one looked, well, frankly boring. Unlike the first time, I actually began to prepare myself mentally well in advance of getting pierced. I had been out of London for a few days, and I decided that the first thing I was going to do when I returned was to head straight to Coldsteel and get it done.
On the train journey back I thought of little else, and upon arrival in London I took the tube straight down to Camden and popped into Coldsteel. I would probably never get pierced anywhere else. They are very professional, and when you hear so many horror stories about some piercing studios, confidence in the people piercing you is important. Because it was a weekday afternoon, they could do it there and then, which I preferred as I was very much ready for it at that point and didn't like the idea of going away and coming back later.
I filled out the forms, to confirm I was over 18, hadn't taken drugs or alcohol, had slept well and eaten earlier and so on. I then chose a ring to match the one I had in the other nipple, and waited a few minutes while the piercer was ready.
The piercing rooms are very clean, in accordance with the strict hygiene standards in place, and it was very reassuring to observe the way in which the piercer went about preparing the equipment and performing the piercing, which was very careful and meticulous.
I don't think it matters whether you have been pierced before or not, there are always some nerves. Although my first nipple piercing had been relatively easy, I had some doubts as to whether the same would be true again. I removed my shirt, and the piercer cleaned the nipple area prior to it being pierced. She then prepared to mark the spot at which it would be pierced, and got me to look in the mirror to check that I was satisfied. It was marked so as to match my other nipple.
I then lied down on the table, which was covered with a cloth for hygiene purposes, ready to be pierced. My nipple was first clamped, and the piercer told me to breathe in and out a couple of times. She then told me that she would pierce it as I exhaled again, and that was it. There was quite a sharp pain as the needle went through, but it was nothing I couldn't cope with. The needle was through in a split second, and once done I felt no pain at all. Once again, it was a lot easier than I had expected. I didn't even feel the ring being put in, which was done so quickly.
I took a look at my chest, and was happy with what I saw. At last, I had a matching pair of piercings, and everything seemed so much more complete. There was no bleeding or anything. The piercer went over aftercare guidelines with me, but as this was the second time I'd had this kind of piercing I was reasonably well informed on what I needed to do during the healing process.
So far, I've had no problems with the piercing. My first nipple piercing produced quite a few crusts during the first couple of weeks, but in almost a week since getting the second one done I've had nothing like this. Nor has it really swollen. Although its still early days in the healing process I am optimistic that this one will be relatively trouble-free. You just have to be careful not to catch it when changing clothes and so on.
I can't describe how great it feels to have both nipples pierced. They have a great sensual feeling, and just feel so right. I really recommend this piercing to anyone thinking of it, and I also strongly recommend Coldsteel if you are in that area. The pain is not nearly half as bad as it is made out to be, and anyway, whats 1 second of pain compared to the resulting buzz you get from them ?
