I planned to get my nipples pierced for my 19th birthday, but just couldn't wait that long. When I make up my mind on what body modification I want next, I will usually end up getting it within a week or two. I just can't help it.

It had been at least 3 years since I had any work done at this specific studio. They had new staff and I didn't know any of them. I began to talk to the piercer, an attempt to try to figure out if he knows anything about piercing. I told him what I wanted, at which point he informed me that he's only done nipple piercings on a girl before and never has a guy. That didn't make me too happy. He then went on to assure me that he'll be able to do it alright and that if I let him, that he'll do them both for a really cheap price. So I told him alright, because everyone has to start somewhere. So then he went to get all the tools that he needed from the autoclave.
The piercer went to clamp my left nipple, but couldn't. I have really small flat nipples. So then he asked me if he could free hand it. I told him if he's trusting in his skills and thinks that he can, then I would have no problem with it. So he decided to do it without the clamp. So he got the needle halfway through, then said "damnit I can't get this through." At this point I was in some intense pain, and that statement coming from his mouth didn't help me at all. I told him to push as hard as he could, I could take it. He did and it finally got it all the way through. I had such an adrenaline rush. I was just so happy that it was over. I sat there for a few minutes, trying to gather my thoughts and nerves.
I waited a few minutes and got something to drink. Then told him I was ready to pierce my right nipple. So he got all his tools again and we went back to the piercing room. For some reason he was able to get my right nipple in the clamp. Man did that clamp hurt. I honestly think the clamp hurt more then the actual needle going through the needle. I really didn't like how he pierced because he would say "ok count to 3" and on 3 he'd pierce. I like the inhale/exhale way a lot better.
So he put the needle through with ease this time and took the clamps off (big mistake). Then he started to put the barbell through but it got lost halfway through, so he had to take it out. I bleed pretty bad since the wound was open. He then tried to get the barbell through but yet again wasn't able to. So he tried to pierce it again. This time he only got the needle half way through and couldn't get the rest through because of the prior hole that's there. At this point I was regretting actually letting a rookie do the piercing.
I was in pain, and bleeding pretty bad, and I was starting to feel very light headed. So we called it quits for the day. I really couldn't stand just having my left nipple pierced. I guess you could say I'm a big fan of symmetry. So I went back three days later to get it pierced again. At first the piercer wasn't sure about it. He doubted it had healed enough and wasn't sure if I could handle the pain. I knew I could though so I eventually coaxed him into piercing it.
So he clamped the right nipple yet again. The pain was twice as bad as before, but I was asking for it. My friend just stood there watching and cringing. So then he put the needle through again, but this time he kept the clamps on as he put the barbell through the piercing. I had never felt so relieved as I did when he got the barbell through and took the clamps off. Finally I had them both pierced. Although the right one is slanted, I just overlook it. Maybe one day I'll take it out and get it re-pierced, but for now I'm satisfied.
I've had my nipples pierced for about five months now and I really love them. I wear 14 gauge barbells in them. I like the way they look, more-so then captive bead rings. One great thing about the piercings is that it's multiplied the feelings in my nipples. So in the end, they're very worth the pain.
