About two years ago I decided that I would like to get my nipples pierced, and just recently leaving for college it seemed like the perfect time. I had talked to some of my friends that had them done already and it seemed that it was a good idea and I decided that it was what I wanted. Having very small nipples I was kind of afraid that the pain would more because the deepness of the piercing. Remembering "No Pain, No Gain" I decided, it would not be unbearable and I would probably forget in a week or so anyways.

Moving to a small town in Kentucky I was very lucky to have find a studio that had experience and quality (I've been there before and have been happy with their work). After a day of classes and the weekend coming up I decided no day was better than today. So around 5:30 I build up the courage and went to the studio. I walked in the studio and I told the man at the counter I wanted my nipples pierced. I was told the piercer was out and would be back around 7:30. Discouraged, I left and found things to do to occupy the two hours I had to wait. The time was about 7:15 and I getting the nerve up to go back. I decided to go by myself not wanting anyone to see me in pain.
Finally 7:30 rolled around and I went back in to the studio. I went back to the studio and was told the piercer would be there in a minute. So The Tattoo artist and I sat down, started to talk and watched Television. Finally after watching almost two complete movies and discussing the current Tattoo trends, the piercer returned. She asked me what size I would like to be pierced with, I asked for a 12g but she suggested 14g because of the size of my nipples. I agreed and she then went into a back room and prepared for the piercing. The nervousness came back as she went into the back and got everything ready to go. I waited, and finally was called back into the somewhat small room.
I sat down and was told to sit up straight and then to relax. She marked my nipple to make sure the piercing was straight. She asked me if I was ready and I said as I ever would. She told me to breath and hold on to something, and than was given two stress balls. She then started to counted, one, two, three, then came the needle and the pain, I didn't say anything just started to sweat heavily, I asked for a glass of water and then onto the next nipple. She told me to breathe and to not look down. Then she counted to three again and I didn't really feel much. Of course being told to not look down, I did, and saw a large needle going through my nipple. I was happy with there being no blood like I was warned there might be, and then I was done. With the needle out and my newly pierced nipples I was ecstatic. I put my shirt back on and walked up to the counter and paid. I was done and ready to go.
I got a very good discount, paying only 40 dollars for both nipples (because of the wait). I was told about the aftercare and given a sheet on it, and I was off to show my friends. The worst part of the experience was walking outside into the cold, it was about the most pain I had experienced in a while. The next few days, almost everybody I know ended up seeing my nipples. With them still healing and cleaning them everyday, I do plan on gauging them to about 10g or maybe 8g. I am still very satisfied and happy with my piercing. I would highly recommend piercing the nipples, and I would say bring someone along. Just to have someone you know there. I would also recommend getting this piercing done in the summer. Even if your nipples are not very sensitive, I would think the cold AND the piece of metal will make your nipples hard.
It's been about two months now and my nipples are very sensitive liked I had hoped them to be. The craving for the needle is once again back and I have to make a decision on what's next. Maybe a Prince Albert or a Hafadas, I'm not sure what's next but I do plan on piercing many more things in the future. I will write again about my future piercing adventures.
