I was always an admirer of body modifications, especially when it came to having friends and loved ones that were the first around me to get them. My sister who's working her way to another tattoo after getting her first and loving it, my stepbrother, and my boyfriend who's looking forward to adding on to his backpiece. So left is myself. I did my research on some possible ideas of piercings or tattoos that I'd like and took it from there. I just didn't think I was going to go through with it that way that I did, since this would be my first piercing.

A few friends had invited me for a night out in the city and dinner and I happily went along with it seeing as my social time after christmas vacation was nonexistent and I didn't want to go back to work still angry that I didnt enjoy the rest of my remaining free time off. On the car ride up we started discussing where we'd like to go around Pittsburgh and what to check out to waste some time before dinner then dancing. Rachael had suggested that we check out some piercing and tattoo shops on the South Side since we all seemed to be so fond of them or have friends that made frequent visits. Then everyone talked about what they would like to get. Rachael wanted a nose stud. Tim talked about his eyebrow since it was his eighteenth birthday, Rob and myself wanted our nipples done. Then that was it, we all had money, time, and our minds made up of what we wanted so we decided to head over to South Side Body Bazaar to check out pricings and to see if one of us would go through with it.
At first glance from walking in we saw tattoo ideas/pictures all over the wall and a display case full of piercing jewelry. We were greeted by one of the guys that worked there who was just sitting down reading a magazine. He asked us what we needed and each of us told what we had wanted and he told us the piercer, Keith would be out in a minute to help us. Keith was a cool guy from first sight. He answered all of our questions and mine about nipples, the cost, jewelry etc. We all decided to get things done. I went second after Rachael. I showed my i.d., and Keith gave me the form to fill out with my consent to go ahead with the piercing procedure. I was a bit nervous, with my hands shaking to show proof of that as I signed my signature since I realized I would be the only one showing my cheast.
The cost of both of my nipples including the free jewelry was forty-five. Tim had asked to go back with me to see it all. I followed Keith over to the room which was covered, and he set out all the tools and explained to me what he would be doing. I took off my top and he sanitized my nipple area first, then marked spots that were to be clamped. I asked him some questions about his previous customers that he had pierced that day and he nevertheless told me a few interesting stories. I surprised myself due to the fact that I was more nervous about wanting to sing and not sound like an idiot than about the piercing itself, since I was in a happy mood. He clamped the section to be pierced in place then proceeded with sticking the needle in the first nipple(left). He made me laugh by telling me the bad part was over as he slid in the jewelry and fastened the ball on the hoop. The second one pinched a little more and he explained why to me as he was finishing up telling me about the blood pressure rushing and everything else circulating to the whole left side, which causes for more pressure to the right nipple. Hopefully I explained that part good enough. Tim was feeling more pain for me after watching the whole thing.
After finishing Keith explained the whole cleansing process with antibacterial liquid(Provon), salt water cleansing recommended for twice a day, and rotating/twisting the hoops. Also making sure to keep my hands sanitized if I were to be touching around that area as to not collect more dirt and bacteria to possibly infect the area. I laughed at myself after he finished because I knew what he was telling me was going through one ear and out the other, so I asked again before heading out.
Keith handed all of us After Care Instruction sheets, with some stickers including the shop address and contact number, and he wrote down a site tribalectic for me for help and more reading up since I seemed to ask him alot of questions prior to getting my piercings done and after. All of us went through with what we wanted except for Rob who decided to wait to get his done. My experience was enjoyable. I liked the pinching/piercing and the little rush it gave me. I'm looking forward to making sure my nipples stay well kept, and getting more modifications to follow.
