I suppose it all started back when I was 13 after reading a paperback in which a scene in St Tropais was depicted in which a topless nubile woman in a bikini walks out of the surf. She proceeds to walk over to main male character and stand straddling him. Water rivulets run over her breasts and the sun glints of her gold rings pierced through both nipples. This was an erotic enlightenment at the time (1977). After contemplating this for several days I decided to try it out myself. The opportunity arose the following Saturday night while my parents were out. I did my 1st piercing with the use of ice to numb my left nipple whilst using a safety pin, sterilised with a match and some medical alcohol. It was vertical exiting through the center of the nipple. A clipped pin was utilised and later a nylon brush bristle were put into service as a stud so no one would know. I wore it for about 3 months before removing it. However every so often I would open the hole up again, remember ing how good it felt.
At A Glance Author anonymous When A month ago Artist self Studio home Location South Africa A friend and I had our left ears pierced when we went to college much to our parents' disgust. After being married for 2 years my wife suggested why didn't I get my other ear pierced to balance it out? This was dully done, however I only wear one ear at a time to work alternating between each of them. No-one seams to notice that both are pierced.
At this stage I must tell you that these piercings were done in a conservative country when this wasn't the norm.
About 2 months ago a decided to horizontally piece both nipples, as I have always found them an erotic zone during foreplay. Whilst out buying supply's I saw several women with pierced navels and as I have always found these a turn on, I thought why the hell not !!!. I returned home with several hypodermic needles (18G – 1.2mm the largest the chemist sold). I washed my hands with medical soap and cleaned the gold sleeper's, stainless navel banana, nipples and navel with medical alcohol. Buy the way why is navel lint always blue ?
First the left nipple was done , gingerly at first. I stopped half way being a little light headed, thinking do I really want to do this. Reminded of how good my first piercing felt I continued . Then the endorphins / adrenalin kicked in. I breathed out and pushed it through, following it with the sleeper on removal. The second nipple was much easier, remembering to exhale whilst pushing. Only a spot of blood was evident this time.
After admiring my handy work in the mirror I decided it was now or never and vertical pierced my navel. Doing blind from the bottom was my mistake. Looking in the mirror with the needle still in, I noticed the top hole was offset to the left (now I know what the pen and clamps are for). I then partially removed the needle, readjusted my aim and pushed back through. Aghhhh ! That hurt like hell. I followed the needle out with the banana shaft, finding more pain as the threads grated against the bare wound.
I noticed that after several weeks the navel wound was looking inflamed with the top ball digging into my skin, as if the shank was to short. After investigating at several shops I found out that was the longest available. So it was back to the needle to move the top hole down.
Since them I happy to report no problems, my wife however thinks I am mad, going through a midlife crisis or something. Vitamin E oil has removed the scarring from the previous attempts. I have changed to eyebrow straight barbells for the nipples , with just the banana shaft for the navel whilst at work as they are invisible. If only my colleges knew, that would blow their hair back !!!
I have since found the BME web site which has restored some faith in my sanity. Its good to know that there are other like minded liberal people out there. After visiting the multiple nipple piercing section I decided to complete the effect by doing vertical piercing to both nipples several weeks later.
My advice to anyone thinking about self piercing is rather first read up all you can or better still, consult a professional. Make sure to plan ahead, getting the right equipment i.e. clamps, sterilising materials and needles (especially their size, as to small will require more force when backing the jewelry through without a plastic sheath). Mark the hole properly, never use a needle for more than two piercings as it blunts and hurts more and finally as the midwife say's exhale and push.
