Well, I finally decided to get my nipple redone after taking it out about six months ago. I had both done, at two different places, in two different cities, and months apart. My first one was horizontal and my second one was vertical. I loved them both so much, but my vertical one started to bother me quite a bit, so i removed it.

I have two other non-ear piercings. I had my eyebrow done when I was fifteen, and I have my labret done. Both healed fine and are doing great.
However, the night of the 'procedure' I was not aware I was getting it done. I was bringing my friend Caiti to get hers done and she had signed me up without my knowing. When we got there, Virginia, the totally talented piercer, was waiting for me! She had all her equipment out ready to pierce my nipple! I was a bit iffy at first, but I signed the paper and away I went. Caiti even made me go first and then she wouldn't come back to the room with me!!! I went back with Virginia and we got started. I was talking to her for a bit. I hadn't been in there in a while. The last time I had something done was my tattoo on my leg. She asked me how it was doing and I told her it had healed beautifully. It was my second tattoo. My first was a little playboy bunny on my shoulder, and this was a red chinese character that meant 'naughty'. I love it!
I knew the entire procedure. I took off my top and bra and stood in front of her with my hands at my side. She looked at my other barbell and tried to make them match...oh yeah...I decided to get it redone horizontal to match my other one. She was very patient and wouldn't stop until it was perfectly lined up. I wanted it so much at that point I could have jumped on the table and done it myself! So finally I get up one the table and lie down. She put the cleaning stuff on....no anesthetic, first of all because she doesn't believe in it, and secondly, I neither do I. I think piercings heal better without numbing creams. Then she put on the clamp. I love the clamp. It doesn't feel bad to me, even though most people say it's the part they hate the most. The clamp is what makes piercings tolerable. I have the clamp put on tight so it takes some of the blood away from the area. Virginia was getting her needle (14ga) ready and preparing the jewelery. I just knew I was going to lo ve it.
Anyway, Virginia gets her needle ready and tells my to breath in. As she's about to do it, I had a lapse and told her not to. So we waited. Finally I was ready. She said to breath in and then breath out through my mouth really hard. She slid the needle through effortlessly, which was something I worried about because of scar tissue from the previous piercing. It felt amazing. It hurt, but I loved it. She slid in the barbell and tightened the balls. I sat up and looked at my matching set! They were great. I put on my clothes and walked out to the front. I think Caiti was happy that I was still alive and okay. I paid and tipped my piercer. She gave me an aftercare sheet and told me to come back and see her in a few weeks for a check up or if I had any questions.
That was two days ago and it is healing very nicely. I have had no pain yet and I can't wait until the 'waiting period' is over! Salk soaks work great, Virginia provided my with a little bag of salt to use, but if your piercer doesn't, go and buy some, it's totally worth it.
Anyone in Cornwall who is looking for a great piercer, try Virginia. She's clean and very very professional! She knows her stuff too, so don't be afraid to ask her questions. She is the most professional piercer in the area, and she will do almost any piercing. The prices are quite reasonable, I paid $54 for my nipple and that includes the jewelery and the aftercare salts.
The funniest thing ever was how I told my boyfriend...well I guess I didn't really tell him. I just went to pick him up from work and flashed him at the red light. He liked it very very much! He can't wait to play with it, but I'm going to make him wait like a good little boy.
My next piercing will be a hood piercing. Something I've dreamed about for years. I'm not too worried about the pain, because after having my nipples pierced three times, I think I'll be alright.
