About a month ago, I figured it was time that I go and do something I really wanted. I was truly interested in piercing, mostly because my fiancé enjoys this modification a lot. She is the kind of girl who if you asked her where she would like her next hole, she'd probably tell you to stick it in her eye. I, on the other hand, was a virgin in this department. However, I come from an extremely conservative family and aren't at all accepting of body modifications. But I was at college for about a month and it was time that I get what I wanted. So my fiancé set up an appointment at Nailtrix (I knew Dayna long ago when I watched my girl get her second nipple pierced and I knew she was really great) for the following Saturday. Dayna was so nice she kept her shop open late for me – If you are in the southern CT area and are interested, go check her shop out, she is a great lady that makes it a very enjoyable experience.

She asked me if I was ready and I got in her chair. She prepped and cleaned the area thoroughly – All the time I was sweating like Hell. It got so bad that she got a towel and had to put it on my stomach [obviously I was nervous] and we all got a laugh. During the whole time I was being comforted by my fiancé and Dayna – I didn't really know what kind of pain to expect. You can tell that I was the pussy of the group and the two of them constantly joked around with me.
Well she put her two marks on my nip and we were getting closer and closer. Time was running out if I wanted to ditch. But I knew what I wanted and the pain was part of the experience. She applied the clamp and I felt it – I was wondering if the cream had worn off!!! Dayna told me to control my breath and then began counting backwards. 3...2...1..... But the pain never really came. I was astonished at how little I could feel the needle. It was only barely noticeable with the clamp on. I was afraid I was going to scream but I just starred off...It was definitely manageable. And then I look down and see a needle through my skin. Fucking awesome!! Even when she put in the captive bead ring [for easy cleaning, of course I was a newbie] the pain did not increase. The only feeling that remained was a little throbbing and that was well worth what I had. Basically the piercing experience can be likened to a roller coaster. The whole time before you get on the anxiety is tremen dous. However, when you actually get strapped in, the whole experience is over in a couple of seconds. And with this I had something physical to take home. She put some gauze over it, instructed me on how to clean it, and told me we were done. I got up and put my shirt on [gingerly] walking to the counter. My fiancé was so nice she even paid for my first piercing and got me a container of sea salt to soak it in. She was so proud that she had corrupted me. And I was proud to be corrupted.
After about 2 hours the throbbing stopped and all I had to do was make sure I didn't hit it on anything, sleeping the first night was also fun because I always sleep on my stomach. But after the first two hours the only time it got irritated was when I was cleaning it.
A week after I noticed my nipples got extremely sensitive. This was one reason I got it done. No pain, just pleasure. I never had any bleeding after the initial opening and have not had any problems with it. No tear or anything – I have been extremely cautious with my new ring. I always clean it twice a day and usually soak it in sea salt during lunch. Although I was ridiculed for being such a fanatic, it has paid off and I have no more crusties. Mine has healed extremely fast – it got itchy a while back but this was only because it was healing.
A month later I have had nothing but words of praise for my new ring. I love the way it looks and feels. It was totally worth it.
A word of caution to those interested in a piercing – It is a highly addictive modification and don't be surprised if you want another one soon after. Hey look at it this way – a month ago I was a completely piercing-free, innocent kid – now I am getting my Frenum done in three days. Good luck to all those contemplating a new piercing.
