I had been thinking about getting my nipples pierced for a long time. Finally in July of last year I went through with it. I have these tiny ity bity nipples so I was concerned that it may not be possible. Anyway, a girl that I was dating at the time really wanted me to get them done so she convinced me. We were at Wildwood beach in New Jersey at the time. She told me that she would pay for the piercings. I quickly agreed (can't complain here). Well we went into a semi cheesy place on the boardwalk that had a sign up for piercings. After talking to the person behind the counter we set up a time and paid. The time was in about an hour so my girl friend and I walked around for a while. The place I was being pierced was different from the place I paid. This naturally seemed strange to me.

When I got to the place I was going to be pierced there were about eight kids ranging from 14 to 16 getting different piercings. Most of them were tongue but there were two getting their eyebrows done. They only had ONE adult with them. The one adult signed for all eight kids. The piercer even said, "I know she can't be the parent of all those kids but I don't care. I need the money" This also should have set me away, however I did not want to back down so I decided to go ahead and get them done.

After a little while the kids were done and it was my turn. The piercer was quite clean which I liked but that's about the only good thing in their piercing room. It was about 100 degrees outside that day and the piercing room air conditioner was broken. The room was extremely hot (roughly 120 seriously) He also explained to me how the owner was too cheep to get the air conditioning fixed. This also should have told me something. However, being the idiot I can be at times, I was too involved in the moment.

The piercer talked me through what was going to happen and then clamped my left nipple. Although we had agreed on twelve gauge much to my dismay, he was using 14 gauge. He counted down from 3 and then pushed the needle through. It hurt but was not that bad. He then totally removed the needle and then pushed in the 14 gauge CBR. (remember these were supposed to be 12 gauge)

At this point, I was sweating so badly I felt queasy. I decided to go outside where it was cooler for a little while and then come back in to get the second one done. I looked at my left nipple and it looked straight. There was a fair amount of blood but I did not know this was not a good thing.

About thirty minutes later I went back to get the right one done. I do not recommend waiting like this it will just make the whole thing take too long. Anyway this time he basically clamped and then put the needle through. This time it hurt a lot. I thought something was not right. When I looked at it there was lots of blood and the needle not only went through my nipple but behind the areola on the right side of the nipple. I was unhappy but figured it would heal and it would be OK.

As of about 4 days ago my right nipple still had not healed well at all. It was constantly bleeding or filling up with what I think was puss. This was mainly around the area where the CBR was behind/through the areola.

Finally (should have done this immediately) I saw a Pro piercer that I know and trust. He explained to me how bad this was and it had to be removed. I got home and opened up the CBR to remove it. The ring did not want to come out. I decided to do something that is NOT recommended (again) I proceeded to yank it quickly with a pair of pliers. It did come out and bled a fair amount. Needless to say this also hurt quite a bit. Well it has been out for a few days now and my nipple is looking better already. I cant wait for it to heal so I can get it redone. My left nipple is fine and healed great.

I hope this story teaches some people something about planning things out. First Always go to a reputable piercer, never some cheesy place at the beach. Second if there is a problem have it looked at by someone who knows what he or she are doing. A good piercer should be able to help. Hopefully someone has learned from my mistake (other than just me)
