I had seen pictures of guys with their nipples pierced all for the longest time and always kind of thought it was pretty cool looking. I had read lots of experiences on BME and was slightly hesitant about the pain involved. I like to do things very spontaneously usually and one day I was sitting in class and decided that after class I would head down to a piercing studio that I had heard about for a few years in conversation. I knew that the place was very clean (I had never been pierced before so this was my first time) and when I walked in everyone was very friendly and knowledgeable.

I was not sure if I wanted rings or barbells. I thought barbells were pretty cool looking and they wouldn't get caught on anything. I liked the look of rings too but figured I could always get them when everything was healed. He asked me if I wanted 14 guage or 12 guage and I was not sure but he showed me the two and I decided I would get 12 guage since they looked much more substantial and I liked that look. I picked out two 12 guage barbells and paid. I then had to wait a few minutes on the couch and finally my name was called. It was only about 5 minutes, but seemed like so much longer. The piercer asked to look at my nipple and he said the barbells that we picked out were longer and he thought I would like have slightly less long ones so he went and got those. I went into the room and the piercer explained the procedure and then asked me to remove my shirt. He had me sta nd straight and with my arms at my side while he marked my nipples. After he was done marking them he gave me the studio signature ink pen to keep. This was pretty impressive and showed that they really care about their reputation of being extremely clean. He cleaned everything and opened the packages in front of me. I don't have very large nipples so they only stick out slightly. He made the markings and I looked at them in the mirror and they seemed lined up.
He had me lay down on the dentist type chair that he put all the way back and he got all of his supplies together. He put the clamp on my right nipple first and it didn't really hurt at all. It was a little cold feeling but there was no discomfort at all. He then explained the breathing technique to me and had me take a deep breath and while I was exhaling he put the needle through. I didn't feel the needle enter but I did feel it exit. It was extremely tolerable and I was very surprised how little the pain was. He removed the clamp and then lined up the barbell and slid it in. He put the ball on the end and then asked how I was doing and I said I was fine so we moved on to the left side.
He followed the same procedure as he did on the right and I took a breath but it wasn't as deep as I think it should have been and he must have picked up on that because he had me take another. One my exhale he put the needle through and it went through with no problem. He inserted the barbell and I was done. I got up and looked in the mirror and thought they looked great.
He went over aftercare instructions again and gave me a bottle of cleaner. I tipped him and went on my way. It's been a few weeks since now and everything is fine. I went home after I had them done and took a nap and had no discomfort sleeping or anything and when I woke up they felt fine. I've cleaned them in shower twice daily and they haven't shown any sign of infection. My nipples have increased in size and are very sensitive... but it's a good type of sensitive. I did favor them a bit at first when I had them done but now I just go about my business and they're fine. There was never any significant swelling, just slight tenderness initially but it was very much tolerable. I would definitely recommend going ahead with this piercing if you've been giving it any thought. Since this was my first piercing and I'm somewhat familiar now with what to expect I have been really considering getting something new. I'm looking into genital piercings now and really think a prince albert would be a nice addition.
