I have always wanted my tongue pierced however, in my line of work I can not have anything visible. A new body piercing shop opened about a week ago on my side of town. I had met the owner's son and have seen his tattoo work on some of my friends. The piercing shop called Skin Ritual 2 is very clean.

I went in just to talk to the owner's and see if their son was around because he is going to do some more work on my tattoo. I was looking around and got to talking to Phil about the pain involved in getting different areas pierced. As I was inquiring about a nipple piercing and the aftercare involved I began to look at the different rings and types of piercings available and began to be intrigued by this type of modification. My tattoo really did not hurt at all and my sister has 6 piercing and 5 tattoos. Phil began to talk to me about the different types of piercing and I really began to feel comfortable around him. I went to my friends for about 30 minutes while I worked up the courage to get it down. I then decided that I was ready and walked back to their shop. There was another guy ahead of me that was getting his tongue pierced. I was a little jealous since I cant get one yet, but he had some more piercings and set my mind at ease.

I filled out the paperwork and was really nervous. Phil and his wife calmed me down and explained the whole process to me. I went inside the piercing room and took off my shirt. Phil then had me stand up and then marked the area where the piercing was going to go. I had decided to get my right nipple pierced and if that went ok come back and get my left. Phil then had me lay down on the table and cleaned the area off. Phil took everything out of the packages in front of me and was very careful. I was allowed to look in the shop prior and was shown the autoclave and all their sterilization steps.

Phil told me to place my right hand under the table and to relax. Phil was great he explained every step that he was doing the piercing. After he put clamp on my nipple which was very exciting (I am a pain kinda guy) he told me to take a breath. I was talking to him and his wife the whole time when then he stuck the needle in and I only can describe the pain as a bee sting. I was shocked that it didn't hurt. I had heard horror stories about the pain involved. Phil then stuck the ring in and it was over. His wife was great I looked at her and could only laugh and talk about how painless it was. He put some ointment on it and I stood up to take a look at my new piercing. It looked great and no bleeding at all. Phil told me that I did a great job and all I could do was tell him what a great job he did. He was very professional and informative.

Phil then explained to me the aftercare throughly and gave me my sea salt and I was on my way. The drive home was ok however the seat belt did cause a little discomfort. I would strongly suggest sleeping with no blanket or wear a t-shirt to bed.

The first two cleanings have gone great with little to no secreating, bleeding, or pain. There is slight discomfort when my shirt snags it or i bump it but not to much. If you are trying to hide it from friends and strangers I would suggest wearing loose fitting cloths I have already had one of my friends come to me and ask if I had a third nipple. I have found that even though I have only had my piercing for one day I cant stop looking at it or touching it to invoke a little pain or discomfort. I went back again a day later to tell him how happy I was and to again thank him for his great work. This time I had the honor to talk to his prospective customers and tell them what a great professional job he did for me and also got to show off his work. I am going back in two weeks to get my other nipple pierced and am considering other forms of body modification. The main thing is if you have questions ask and talk to the piercer one on one if you can ask to look around and if it looks dirty go elsewhere.
