Well I finally did it after years of thinking about it...I had the twins pierced yesterday.
At A Glance Author Erin When It just happened Artist Dana Studio Ritual Body Piercing Location Dallas, TX I was not really nervous, more like anxious, I couldn't sit still while I waited for my turn. I think my friend Jessica was more nervous for me.
Dana came out to explain all the details for me and told me what I had to do for aftercare. She was very specific and went over things twice to make sure I understood how critical it was for me to follow them exactly. She also sold me an antibacterial soap that she recommends over using store bought soaps. She went back to do one piercing before me and then it was my turn. I couldn't wait, I was too excited, I would sit then stand, then go outside to smoke, then sit and then walk around. I browsed all the jewelry that there was, I saw what I want to put in as soon as I can change my rings out. (At this point I still can't sit still) Dana also told me later that she is the only shop in the area that you can order jewelry from catalogs that she has. (Good to know for the future)
Finally it was my turn and Jessica and I went back to the piercing area. I was strangely comfortable without my shirt on in front of a stranger. Dana had to mark me and she told me I had to check her marks. Don't know why, it's not like I knew where they should be, I mean she's the expert, right? Satisfied I sat back and prepared myself for a very unique experience. She explained how I needed to breath and how she was going to clamp my nipples. Dana pointed out that my nipples were slightly inverted (which I have always hated) and told me that after having them pierced and the scar tissue builds up that they will never be inverted again. Hot damn!! I will finally like my nipples. She told me to pass that tidbit of info on to any of my girlfriends that didn't like their nipples inverted. (But it's not like I know if my friends nipples are inverted, I don't go around checking them out).
So the moment of truth arrives...the first one is clamped and I'm ready to go. Dana tells me inhale a deep breath, then the slight pinch comes, and exhale and the needle is through. It hurt worse when she put in the ring than the actual piercing. Whew...one down, one to go. Now that I knew what to expect I was ready for the next (which I've always heard hurts worse than the first). Deep breath and exhale...son of a bitch that did hurt more. I think it hurt more because I anticipated that pain and knew what to expect. Finally the ring is in and I turn to face the mirror and my newly pierced nipples. Absolutely fabulous. I am so happy. They look so good.
Dana did a great job putting me at ease for the process and she was as gentle as can be. She told me how well I did and that I hardly flinched. Am I tough or what? I thought Jessica was going to faint for me. But when she realized I was ok, she was ok too. I didn't really get light headed like Dana said some girls do. Surprisingly enough, I was just fine.
So it was a good experience and I'm glad I did it. Now I can't stop looking at my tits and these new little rings. I can't wait until they heal and feel better because right now they are very sore and tender.
Cleaning them hurts more than the actual piercing did. Moving that ring around through the new holes in my nipples kills me. I was also worried about having to wear a bra to work the next day and it rubbing on the rings. Dana told me that it would be better than going bra less because my tits would be more stable and wouldn't bounce around. She was right. Now the pain comes in waves. I'm fine for a while and then BAM a shock of pain. But it really isn't that bad anymore.
I highly recommend Ritual Body Piercing in Dallas. Its down on Greenville Ave. The people there are great and they really know their shit. Both the piercers are female so if any of you gals out there are nervous about de-shirting in front of a guy, you have nothing to worry about. Dana was great. She really put me at ease and she made absolutely sure that I knew what I needed to know, not just for the piercing, but for the aftercare as well. If I ever have a desire to pierce anything else, I guarantee I will go back to Ritual Body.
