Yes, it seemed like a real good idea at the time.

My buddy Alex and I were sitting around drinking (first symptom of a bad idea waiting to happen) and talking about working up the nerve to get a few new piercing. Well not so much me, as much as Alex, whose only experience with piercing was a few in his ear and more in his pants, so he of coarse associated needles going threw flesh with pain. I on the other hand have a rather high tolerance of pain (and a wide variety of piercings) and was trying to convince him that nipple piercing didn't really hurt unless you have really sensitive nipples (which he doesn't). So than the conversation moved on to self piercing, and than to letting your inexperienced friend do it. That struck a cord in both our minds. So we started talking about piercing each other's nipples. (Second symptom of a bad idea waiting to happen). Wow what a great idea!! Like I said it seemed like a good idea at the time.

So we had two short barbells stolen from my ears (for me) and two cbr's from Alex's floor (for him). Only problem was our need for sufficiently sized needles, we thought of something to improvise with but since we couldn't think of anything we took the twenty-minute walk to the head shop down the street. Before leaving we threw our jewelry in a cup of bactine and went to go buy the needles.

(Skip forward about 45 minutes)

So we had made it back from buying the needles, and had a bit more to drink. We were both ready to go, but were having problems deciding who was going to play pincushion first. Me being brave, and I believe a bit more under the influence, (third symptom of a bad idea waiting to happen) decided to go first. So I take off my shirt and bra and waited for Alex to come back with the "equipment". So he comes back with the "equipment " on a cooking sheet, which sent me into a laughing fit. He made a comment about wanting to "be professional about this". So he put on some latex gloves (this just keeping getting funnier and funnier) and rubbed some alcohol on my nipples with some cotton balls. So he grabbed his clamps (an amateur piercers best friend), which had also been treated with alcohol so we knew they were sterile -note the sarcasm in my story telling voice-

So the clamp was put on my right nipple and with out any further a due Alex said "on the count of three". So of coarse he did it on one, no surprise. No pain, and surprisingly very little blood. So Alex left the needle in while he fiddled with barbell. So he was sliding the jewelry in with the needle and surprise here comes the blood!! I seemed like a bit much and due to it's presence Alex had a bit of trouble screwing my ball on but finally he managed. So he quickly opened the package for the other needle (after changing his gloves like I said he wanted to professional about this), dropped it on the floor (so much for sanitation), and clamped my other nipple. This one seemed to know its fate and quickly tried to protect it's self. Alex didn't even bother with counting this time just started pushing, but like I said this nipple wasn't going down without a fight. I could feel Alex's hand shaking from the pressure he was putting on the needle and could feel each bit of skin rip as my nipple slowly lost the battle. Ouch! It took about five minutes for Alex to push it threw, and another ten to get in the jewelry. Did I neglect to mention my other nipple was still bleeding, bad? So far be it for my other nipple not to conform, it of coarse started bleeding. So stomach was an intense crimson color (did I mention I was bleeding?) when I realized the problem. I had heard forever that liquor thinned the blood and caused one to bleed more than usual, and that was what I was experiencing at the moment.

Though my bleeding continued we moved on to Alex's nipples (withholding my sudden realization cause misery loves company, mwah haha) the only problem that arose with him was it hurt pretty bad ( my new nick name for the rest of the night was liar), and the fact that I can't close CBR's for life of me but finally we managed to close them regardless of my inexperience. At first I thought he had somehow dodged the bloody bullet that struck me. Than it started, I couldn't help but start laughing, he looked down at his chest in complete and utter dismay. He grabbed the roll of paper towels that we had used to swab up my blood and started trying to put pressure on the holes to stop the bleeding. He didn't stop to think of the pain it would cause and made a face that made me laugh even harder. He than gave me a face that would have been he end of me if looks could kill and left the room. I looked down to find that my laughing had caused my nipples to bleed threw my shirt a bit.

I went to search for Alex and found him trying to apply New Skin to his nipples, and though it did stop the bleeding it resulted in a string of cursing that would of put a sailor to shame. He gave me another killer look when I told him why the bleeding had happened than started laughing with me. And though there was enough blood to worry most people on Alex's paper towels he go off easy compared to my downpour.

So of coarse my nipples seemed a bit angry a few days later. I was worried at the fact that they were showing future signs of infection, but I figured it served me right for asking like an idiot and piercing it like I did. I somehow go of easy and in the end and didn't have to deal with the hell hat results from infected piercings.

So my advice is this my friends; it is true that liquor thins the blood which equal an unnecessary amount of bleeding, if you must pierce yourself be clean about it, and last don't laugh a Alex when he's drunk with bloody nipples!!
