Initially inspired by the wondrous invention, the Internet, I was determined to start my initiation into the monarchy of body modification. I personally am not interested in facial piercings, I certainly think it appears quite impressive on some people but it's just not for me. So I chose to start with my nipples, I was never impressed seeing people with a single nipple pierced, so obviously the decision was to get both done at once. I organised a time over the phone with a tattoo/piercing place and eagerly waited throughout the couple of hours between the call and the drive there.
At A Glance Author Matt Contact Nucking_Fut@Hotmail.com When Six months ago Artist Unsure Studio Tattoo City Location Dandenong, Victoria, Australia I'm always pleased to visit these type of places, it seems the big 'scary' tattooed and pierced people owning these business' are so much nicer than the usual people owning whatever. Sure they want my money, but they just seem much more genuine... anyway.
I went down, just myself and selected which jewelry I preferred, which were small bars just long enough to get across my nipples. Migrated to the back room I was asked to remove my top and lie down on a bench like operating table. The guy dabbed my nipples with a swab and made the appropriate pen marks, centered horizontally, and then asked me to sit up on the bench.
Before I go on I should mention that for probably two years of my life my nipples were bitten, pinched, twisted and tortured courtesy of an ex-girlfriend who honestly had some strange fetishes. Eventually, my nipples became desensitized to her vicious torment (though I did enjoy it at times) and any other associated infliction.
The guy got out his tools and went to work, firstly clamping my left nipple with a scissor-like metal object; this was totally painless. He got out some other implement, which looked like a needle with a white, plastic cylinder on the end of it. He then began to push it through my nipple, it took him a few seconds and it felt like what I think is best described as 'tearing'. The pain was easily bearable, yet still it hurt, the needle was left in my nipple as he organised himself to do the same thing on the other side of my chest. The left nipple didn't hurt after the initial opening and I knew what to expect for the right, as he put the second needle through I somewhat enjoyed the feeling. The guy commented on me smiling when he was putting the needle through, telling me not many people do. Seriously I would have thought otherwise, maybe he hasn't done that many piercings yet. All that was left was to insert the jewelry, surprisingly doing this felt very similar to ha ving the needle go through, it took about the same time to do also (few seconds). I stood up, went to the front room and paid the man for his time, antiseptic spray and jewelry, which came to one hundred Australian dollars, as it was $20 more for each nipple to have bars instead of rings. Leaving the shop a satisfied customer, I went home and began the healing process.
In the first week I was stunned, as it seemed I was totally healed, no puss, no inflammation, just a set of pierced nipples. I was later to realize that totally healed was not quite true. I never had any real problems only some small inflammation, little puss and occasionally some unattractive scab. I regularly used antiseptic spray; say at least once a day up until the two-week mark, after that I only used it when my nipples were a bit messy (pussy/inflamed). Now almost six months later I'm all healed up and able to take out jewelry for a couple of hours without the piercing closing over, I've never taken them out for too long, it's too expensive as I would definitely have it done again if they grew over.
All in all it was a very easy process and I definitely like the look it gives, a good decision on my-behalf. I would suggest to anyone to have the same done if they were so inclined, as it posed no problems for me. If your worried about the pain, don't, it isn't very painful at all, a few seconds if anything. Even when mine got knocked around shortly after the piercing it wasn't anything worth complaining about, so please if your interested, go ahead with it, I'm almost sure you will be pleased. Not only has this process provided me with a set of nipple rings but an appetite for body modifications, I'm now planning for several more tattoo's, some unique piercings and scarification, which I am making designs to do myself. Honestly once you start you'll love it, I certainly do and I encourage anyone with the same train of thought.
I also intend to submit some photos as soon as I can borrow a digital camera, which shouldn't be too long. Anybody feel free to e-mail me about this experience or whatever, always happy to help if I can.
Regards,
Matt
