I've had my nipple pierced for about a month now. I didn't tell my mum because I knew she'd be mad, I'd brought the idea up of getting it pierced not so long ago and she wasn't impressed, but it's my body and is she ever going to see it?? No, so I did what I wanted to do. I booked it a week before so I had a week to get used to the idea, I found out all the information when I booked myself in so I wouldn't have to start worrying and asking loads of questions on the day.
At A Glance Author anonymous Contact anonymous@bme.anon When A month ago Location England I took a friend with me and I had already chosen my nipple bar a previous day. I wanted a hoop originally but they thought it was better to pierce it with a barbell because it doesn't get moved about as much, and can't get caught on anything. They said they would change it to a hoop if I wanted for free once it had healed but Im quite happy with the bar no, its been no trouble at all. I trusted the piercer I went to as he pierced my belly button and I had no trouble at all with that.
As I walked into the piercing room I could smell how clean it was, this made me feel more comfortable. He cleaned the bar while I sat on the piercing table. He was chatting away which took away all my nerves, he said I was the forth person that day to have my nipple pierced and it was only about 12 o clock, so it must be popular! He was telling me about all the piercings he had done recently and all the funny stories from his life as a piercer.
I only had to take off half my top, I thought id be sat there with no top on for ages but not at all. The piercer wore gloves all the time and only took them off to tighten the ball on the bar at the very end, and he asked first if I minded him taking his gloves off. It would have been very easy to get the ball on as tight as he didn't with those gloves on.
He then said this will be the most painful part, and he put the clamp on my nipple. It wasn't that bad at all, hurts no more than if you pinch your nipple, I wasn't worried at all after that point because if that the supposed 'most painful part' wasn't painful then what was there to be worried about? He sprayed my nipple with the "numbing spray" and it was really cold, my nipple turned all white and looked like ice. Then I thought he was repositioning the clamp or something because I could feel something but not pain, it didn't hurt at all, i looked down and there was the needle sticking through my nipple, then he put the bar in and that didn't hurt either!
I was amazed as id read so many horror stories but it was nothing at all. He explained all the procedures about squirting it with savlon wound wash once a day and not to fiddle with it or clean it more than once a day until it had healed then i could play with it. I clean it when I'm in the shower I just move it to one side and blast it gently with the shower, this gets any white stuff (dead blood cells) off the bar with out you having to fiddle with it, and it comes off easier when it's wet. I then squirt it with savlon wound wash and that's that, simple and pain free.
I walked out with a massive smile on my face. I showed my friend who didn't like the idea of a pierced nipple but they thought it looked great and so did I!
It's healing fine, (touch wood) it hasn't hurt me at all and it doesn't hurt when I move it to the side when I'm cleaning it. It didn't even go red, I was soooo impressed. I wore my bra straight after and that didn't even hurt it, which I thought it would. I didn't sleep on my front for about a week but one night I did forgetting about my nipple but it was fine, it didn't hurt then or in the morning.
It's really nice to have something that only people will know about if I tell them, and Im considering having the other one done now, honestly no pain at all, if you want it done go for it. It's better regretting something you have done than regretting not doing something at all, not that this will be a regret of course!! trust me you'll love it, go now!
