Background.

I had fancied a pair of nipple piercings for several years but had always been afraid that it could decrease their sensitivity, something that is important to me. I have enjoyed, if that is the right word, very sensitive nipples all my adult life and am easily aroused by touching, pulling and any other type of play you can think of. That includes vacuum stretching which became my favourite preparation for a nipple-play session. I started researching nipple stretching and saw the results of increasing the diameter of the piercing. That was not the effect I wanted. I wanted my whole nipple area pulled outwards more like the vacuum treatment had done but I wanted it to last more than a few minutes. I had seen on television some years before a guy who had piercings that he was using screw-type pullers on to gradually train them to a longer length. It looked far better than the spiral devices that are easily available as it pulled evenly on both sides of the barbell. That made me decide that, one day, I would do the same. I had read many reports of this work and nothing had concerned me on that score. Indeed, many of the stories had told of increased sensitivity. So, eventually the desire for my piercings and the timing of other things in my life allowed me the opportunity to visit Glen at Adonis and get it done. I had decided, on my fiancée's advice, that the best way to get the result I wanted was to go straight to 2.4mm (10ga), avoiding any chance of the cheese-cutter effect. I should say, at this point, that my fiancée has done a lot of the research work for me and I owe her a great debt of gratitude for that. She has several piercings and "knows the score".

2nd Mar. 2002, 4pm

After a bit of measuring and marking Glen sat me in his "comfy" chair and applied the loop-clamp to my left nipple. If you haven't seen a nipple piercing, this clamp holds the area in place so the needle goes straight through the exact spot required. At this point he discovered that he didn't have the right length barbells available and suggested I have quite large diameter rings instead as small ones would be likely to cause the holes to be quite curved during healing. He explained that I will be able to switch to barbells at a later date and that the type of stretching I want can't be considered for about a year anyway.

"Are you ready? This will hurt for just a few seconds", he said. I gave the go-ahead and he started. He wasn't joking when he said it would hurt. I can only compare it to an abscess under a back tooth when the dentist hits it with a little metal hammer, but non-stop for several seconds. After what seemed like about 10 seconds he said, "half way through".

"Oh ye Gods!", I thought. Another push that caused me to go rigid, dig my fingers into the cushion of his chair and let out a stifled grunt and it was through.

"You've got tough nipples but that's the worst part done. Now I just insert an end of the ring into the tube and slide it back through. The pressure will be relieved and the pain will cease." Sure enough, as soon as the tubing was out all the pressure was gone and I could hardly feel the ring at all.

I think Glen noticed a few beads of sweat on my head as he asked if I was ready to go on with the second one.

"Give me a few seconds." I said. Soon after that I noticed that my legs were still straight out in front and I had to consciously relax at the knees.

"Would you prefer to do the other one another day?"

Oh, this was a tempting offer but I live a few hours drive from Dublin so I decided that two sharp pains in one session would probably be better than mentally preparing for another trip and to get it over with there and then.

"Carry on, Glen"

"Yeah, 2.4mm is a pretty big size for first piercing so it will smart a bit."

Now he tells me! My fiancée chose the size and I WILL get her back for this one.

The second, my right, was not quite as bad as the first and certainly a bit quicker but it drew another muffled yell from me and my fingers made some pretty good indentations on his chair. This time the tubing stuck a little as he was trying to retract it with the ring in and that pulled at it a bit. Clenched teeth for that but not as bad as the actual piercings. Once again it was a few seconds before I became aware of my feet sticking out again. A bit more thought and I got them lowered. I was quite surprised at the lack of any blood. That was pretty much the actual piercing and my fiancée was first in to have a look at the finished job. She suggested I get some pain killer into me and some glucose drink. That was a welcome idea after the warmth of Glen's studio.

I must say I walked out of there in a bit of a daze and the first thing I could think of to do was have a quick cigarette. There is a pharmacy just along the street and I got a large box of paracetamol/codeine. It was after about fifteen minutes that the left side suddenly lost all pain, but the right continued to hurt for a while longer.

That night we were staying at a friend's house and he had no non-iodised sea salt so I bathed the area in luke-warm tap water. I noticed the water produced heavy limescale at his place and he told me it was heavily chlorinated in that area. I hope that will not be a problem.

Back home I ran a bath and gave them another soak in tap water. Here in Tipperary the water is less chlorinated and runs very clear, producing hardly any limescale in kettles etc.

My fiancée made up some warm water with a little lavender oil in it and gave me it in a small glass to hold against the piercings, one at a time. I lay back with my nipples immersed in the liquid and occasionally swirled it around, making sure not to let any drip. After 15 minutes another glass was made up and I gave the other nipple the same treatment. After each dowsing I carefully wiped away any crusty formations from around the piercings with a de-makeup pad. I will do this routine every night until it is quite well healed.

5th Mar, 2002

Today I noticed quite a bit of soreness, which I put down to rushing around and doing a lot of driving over bumpy Irish roads. I have also noticed an increase in sensitivity when I lightly touch my nipples, which is separate from any pain. I did get one sharp twinge that my fiancée explained was quite normal in the days after a fresh piercing. I am very pleased with the look of them as Glen did the piercing deep enough to bring the aureole forward too. The temperature has turned cold tonight and a walk outside really reminded me to wrap up warm. Ouch!

7th March, 2002

A warm day and I had to make some service calls. I noticed a very pretty girl giving me an odd look. I realised I was just wearing a sweatshirt and the shape of my rings must have been showing through. Hmmmmmm this could get interesting! A little later I was walking down our street when I noticed the extra weight and prominent shape of my nipples was causing a not unpleasant friction.

My advice to anyone considering this type of piercing is to go to the best piercer you can find and ask them as many questions as you can think of.
